The Ladies Swiss Classic was a women's professional golf tournament on the Ladies European Tour held in Switzerland. It was played in 1988 and 1989 near St. Moritz and in 1990 near Geneva. Ladies Swiss Open
The Ladies Swiss Open is a women's professional golf tournament on the Ladies European Tour that is held in Switzerland. It was first played in 1996 and 1997, the first LET event in Switzerland since the Ladies Swiss Classic (1988–1990). It was played 2006–2012 with Deutsche Bank as the title sponsor. After a 8 year hiatus it returned to the LET schedule again in 2020, this time with Liechtenstein-based VP Bank as title sponsor. Cathy Panton
Catherine Rita Panton-Lewis (born 14 June 1955) is a Scottish professional golfer who was a founding member of the Ladies European Tour and won its first Order of Merit. Her father was John Panton, MBE, a professional golfer who played on three Ryder Cup teams. Panton was born in Bridge of Allan, Scotland. As an amateur, she won the British Ladies Amateur in 1976, winning 1-up over Alison Sheard. Later that year, she was a member of the Great Britain & Ireland Espirito Santo Trophy team. She was captain of the University of Edinburgh golf team in 1976 and 1977, and was Scottish Universities Champion in 1977. She was named Scottish Sportswoman of the Year in 1976. Panton turned professional in 1978, the same year that the Women's Professional Golf Association was founded as a division of the PGA of Great Britain and Ireland. Suzanne Strudwick
Suzanne Strudwick (born 4 July 1965 in Cheshire, England) is an English professional golfer. She turned professional in 1983 and joined the Women Professional Golfers' European Tour (now the Ladies European Tour) the same year. In 1993 she joined the U.S.-based LPGA Tour and was rookie of the year in her first season. She made the top 100 on the LPGA Tour money list nine times, but never rose higher than 68th. Strudwick played a full tournament schedule until 2004, and now runs her own golf academy based in Knoxville, Tennessee, United States. Strudwick is now a full-time golf coach at Carson–Newman University in Jefferson City, Tennessee. Kitrina Douglas
Kitrina Douglas (born 6 September 1960) is an English ex- professional golfer who played on the Ladies European Tour. Douglas won the British Ladies Amateur in 1982 and played in the 1982 Great Britain & Ireland Curtis Cup team. She played professionally on the Ladies European Tour, where she won eight times and was a member of the 1992 European Solheim Cup team. Once her competitive career was over, Douglas became a BBC Sport Online golf columnist and in 2004 Douglas was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in achievement psychology of international women golfers from the University of Bristol. Gillian Stewart (born 21 October 1958) is a Scottish professional golfer who played on the Ladies European Tour (LET) from 1985 to 2000. She recorded three LET wins and was runner-up in eight tournaments. As an amateur, she won the Girls Amateur Championship and played in the Vagliano Trophy, Curtis Cup and Espirito Santo Trophy. Amateur career Stewart was educated at Inverness Royal Academy and the University of Edinburgh, where she majored in Business Studies. Stewart assembled an impressive amateur record. Evelyn Orley
Evelyn Orley (born 10 July 1966) is a Swiss former professional golfer. Family Orley's grandfather Zoltan Őssy-Őlvy represented Hungary in the 1936 Summer Olympics in shooting, and her father Thomas Orley, born in Budapest, competed in fencing for the U.S. in the 1964 Summer Olympics. Her father later moved to Switzerland, where Evelyn was born. Her ultimate dream in golf had been to compete in the Olympics, even petitioning the International Olympic Committee in 1988 to add the sport. Career Orley won the 1983 Girls Amateur Championship and played college golf with the Duke Blue Devils at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina where she won the 1985 ACC Championship individually.
