Marie Wennersten-From
Marie Louise Inger Wennersten From (born 17 March 1958) is a retired Swedish professional golfer who played on the Ladies European Tour and LPGA Tour. Early life and amateur career Wennersten was born in Uddevalla on the west-coast of Sweden and played golf from age 10. As an amateur, representing Lyckorna Golf Club in Ljungskile south of Uddevalla, she won the Swedish Junior Match-play Championship in 1977 and the Swedish Match-play Championship in 1981, successfully defending the title in 1982. She represented Sweden at the European Lady Junior's Team Championship four times and was part of the Swedish team winning the 1978 event. Professional career In 1984, Wennersten enjoyed a spell on the LPGA Tour, with a best finish of T38 at the MasterCard International Pro-Am. Letting French Open
The Open de France Dames is a women's professional golf tournament in France on the Ladies European Tour. It has been played annually since 1987, with four exceptions: 1990, 1991, 1992, and 1998. Since the 2011 edition, Lacoste has been the title sponsor of the event. Between 2012 and 2017 the tournament was held at Golf de Chantaco, near Saint-Jean-de-Luz in the Basque Country, which belongs to the Lacoste family. As Chantaco underwent construction works after the 2017 event, the tournament was moved to the Golf du Médoc Resort. Cathy Panton
Catherine Rita Panton-Lewis (born 14 June 1955) is a Scottish professional golfer who was a founding member of the Ladies European Tour and won its first Order of Merit. Her father was John Panton, MBE, a professional golfer who played on three Ryder Cup teams. Panton was born in Bridge of Allan, Scotland. As an amateur, she won the British Ladies Amateur in 1976, winning 1-up over Alison Sheard. Later that year, she was a member of the Great Britain & Ireland Espirito Santo Trophy team. She was captain of the University of Edinburgh golf team in 1976 and 1977, and was Scottish Universities Champion in 1977. She was named Scottish Sportswoman of the Year in 1976. Beverley New (born 1960) is an English professional golfer who played on the Ladies European Tour. Amateur career New had a successful amateur career and was runner-up 1979 Welsh Women's Open Stroke Play Championship, before winning the 1980 English Women's Amateur Championship, 3 and 2, over Julie Walter. She was the stroke-play medalist at the 1983 British Ladies Amateur, and between 1980 and 2007 she won the Somerset Ladies' Championship eight times. Representing her National Team, she was part of the Great Britain and Ireland team that was victorious over Europe at Woodhall Spa Golf Club in the 1983 Vagliano Trophy. Marie-Laure de Lorenzi (born 21 January 1961, in Biarritz) is a French professional golfer. She is also known by her married name Marie-Laure Taya, and competed using that name until midway through 1989 when she reverted to her maiden name. De Lorenzi played for her country in the European Lady Junior's Team Championship, for players up to the age of 21, from she was 14 years old in 1975 until 1982 and was on the winning team in 1979. She also won individually in 1981. De Lorenzi joined the Ladies European Tour in 1987 and is now a life member of the tour, having accumulated 19 tournament victories on it. She played for Europe in the first Solheim Cup, which took place in 1990, and was also a member of the European team in 1996 and 1998. Liselotte Maria "Lotta" Neumann (born 20 May 1966) is a Swedish professional golfer. When she recorded her first LPGA Tour win, by claiming the 1988 U.S. Women's Open title, Neumann also became the first Swedish golfer, male or female, to win a major championship. Early years Neumann was born and grew up in Finspång, Sweden. Her father Rune was a former football player and coach of a local girls football team. After practicing different sports and supported by her father, her mother Ingegerd and her brother Mats, Neumann began playing golf at the local 9-hole course at Finspång Golf Club. She showed early promise and won the unofficial national youth championships, Colgate Cup, at three different levels, as a 12, 14, and 16-year-old. Jane Connachan (born 25 February 1964) is a Scottish professional golfer who played on the Ladies European Tour. Amateur career Connachan was considered a child prodigy, playing competitive golf constantly since the age of 10, and in the 17 years until she suddenly retired at age 27, accumulated an almost unparalleled record. She first played for Scotland when she was 15. She won the Australian Girls' Amateur and the Girls Amateur Championship, twice.
