''La sombra del otro'' (English: ''Other's Shadow'') is a Mexican telenovela produced by Julissa and Giselle González Salgado for Televisa. It premiered on Canal de las Estrellas on May 27, 1996 and ended on Friday, August 16, 1996. Edith González and Rafael Rojas starred as protagonists, while Alejandro Camacho starred as main antagonist. A telenovela is a type of a television serial drama or soap opera produced primarily in Latin America. The word combines ''tele'' (for "television") and ''novela'' (meaning "novel"). Similar drama genres around the world include '' teleserye'' (Philippines), '' téléroman'' (Canada, specifically Quebec), and ''sinetron'' (Indonesia). Commonly described using the American colloquialism Spanish soap opera, many telenovelas share some stylistic and thematic similarities to the soap opera familiar to the English-speaking world. ''El premio mayor'', is a Mexican telenovela produced by Emilio Larrosa and written by Verónica Suárez and Alejandro Pohlenz.
