La Voyageuse
La Voyageuse (foaled 1975 in Ontario) is a Canadian Thoroughbred racehorse who was a three-time Sovereign Award winner. She was bred and raced by prominent Quebec businessman and major racing stable owner Jean-Louis Levesque. Retired to broodmare duty for the 1981 season, La Voyageuse produced thirteen foals between then and 1997. One of her daughters, Society Lady (1990), produced the European Champion Two-Year-Old Filly, Bint Allayl. Tentam
Tentam (1969–1981) was an American Thoroughbred racehorse. Racing career Owned by Charles W. Engelhard Jr., who raced him under his Cragwood Stables ''nom de course'', Tentam won Grade 1 races and on August 11, 1973, set a world record for one and one eight miles on turf in winning the Bernard Baruch Handicap at Saratoga Race CourseHe was then sold for $2 million in September to E. P. Taylor whose Windfields Farm owned the supersire Northern Dancer. E. P. Taylor purchased Tentam, a descendant of Man o' War, for breeding purposes but raced him for the remainder of 1973 before syndicating him and sending him to stand at his stud farm. Bint Allayl
Bint Allayl (19 January 1996 – 22 February 1999) was a British champion Thoroughbred racehorse. She was rated the best two-year-old filly of 1998 by both the International Classification and the Cartier Racing Awards. She won three of her four races including the Queen Mary Stakes and the Lowther Stakes and was made favourite for the 1999 1000 Guineas. She was put down after suffering an injury in training in February 1999. Background Bint Allayl, a powerfully built ("barrel-chested") bay filly, was bred by her owner Sheikh Ahmed Al Maktoum. She was sired by Green Desert out of the Mr. Prospector mare Society Lady. Green Desert finished second to Dancing Brave in the 2000 Guineas and became a leading sprinter, winning the July Cup. The Thoroughbred is a horse breed best known for its use in horse racing. Although the word ''thoroughbred'' is sometimes used to refer to any breed of purebred horse, it technically refers only to the Thoroughbred breed. Woodbine Racetrack
Woodbine Racetrack is a race track for Thoroughbred horse racing in the Etobicoke area of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Owned by Woodbine Entertainment Group, Woodbine Racetrack manages and hosts Canada's most famous race, the King's Plate.
