Lùnapop
Lùnapop was an Italian pop rock music group active between 1999 and 2001. Lùnapop released its lone full length Italian language album, ''...Squérez?'', in 1999. The album quickly became a commercial success, with the single "50 special", hitting the number one spot in the Italian charts in 1999, and ''...Squérez?'' being the third-best selling album in Italy in 2000. The band won awards as Italy's best band, best album, and best newcomer in 2000. Lùnapop was also nominated for a 2000 MTV Europe Music Awards, and won the 2000 Festivalbar award with their single "Qualcosa di grande". Break up Lùnapop split up in 2001. Lead singer Cesare Cremonini pursued a successful solo career. His Lùnapop bandmate, Nicola 'Ballo' Balestri, joined him in his new band, along with other musicians. Cesare Cremonini (musician)
Cesare Cremonini (; born 27 March 1980) is an Italian singer-songwriter and actor. Cremonini was the leader of Lùnapop, a successful and popular Italian pop band between 1999 and 2002. In 2002 Lùnapop was disbanded. He has since pursued a successful solo career. His Lùnapop bandmate, Nicola 'Ballo' Balestri, has joined him in his new band, along with other musicians. The singer's biggest solo hits include "Vieni a vedere perché", "Latin Lover", "Gongi-Boy", " Marmellata #25", "Dicono di me", "Figlio di un re", "Il Comico", "Mondo", "Buon viaggio (Share The Love)", "Poetica" and "Nessuno Vuole Essere Robin". The 2000 MTV Europe Music Awards were held on 16 November 2000 at the Ericsson Globe, Stockholm. Performers included Jennifer Lopez, Ricky Martin, Robbie Williams and Kylie Minogue. Festivalbar
The Festivalbar was an Italian singing competition that took place in the most important Italian squares during summer, such as the Piazza del Duomo, Catania or Piazza Bra, Verona. The first edition took place in 1964 and was broadcast by RAI. The competition was held throughout the summer and the final round always took place at the Arena in Verona after 3-4 events in various cities of Italy. History Originally, the Festivalbar was a competition made with data from jukeboxes in Italian bars, so the competition was a one evening event transmitted by RAI. From 1983, Mediaset started to transmit this programme and the Festivalbar would change its location every week. The original promoter of the Festivalbar was Vittorio Salvetti. AllMusic (previously known as All Music Guide and AMG) is an American online music database. It catalogs more than three million album entries and 30 million tracks, as well as information on musicians and bands.
