Léonard Autié
Léonard-Alexis Autié, also Autier (c. 1751 – 20 March 1820), often referred to simply as Monsieur Léonard, was the favourite hairdresser of Queen Marie Antoinette and in 1788–1789 founded the Théâtre de Monsieur, "the first resident theatre in France to produce a year-round repertory of Italian opera." Early life and career as a hairdresser Born in the medieval town of Pamiers in southwestern France, he was the son of Alexis Autié and Catherine Fournier, who were domestic servants. He spent time in Bordeaux, where he began to work as a hairdresser. In 1769 he moved to Paris, where he began styling the hair of Julie Niébert, an actress at the Théâtre de Nicolet. Jean-François Autié (1758 – 25 July 1794)Picard 1911p. 122 was a hairdresser to Queen Marie Antoinette. He was the youngest brother of Léonard-Alexis Autié and Pierre Autié (1753 – 1814), who were also hairdressers at the royal court. Rue De La Chaussée-d'Antin
This "quartier" of Paris got its name from the rue de la Chaussée-d'Antin in the 9th arrondissement of Paris. It runs north-northwest from the Boulevard des Italiens to the Église de la Sainte-Trinité. In the 17th century the ''chemin des Porcherons'' crossed a swampy piece of ground north of the ''porte Gaillon'', a city gate in the wall built during the reign of Louis XIII, leading to the village of Les Porcherons. It is called a ''chaussée'' because the marshy ground required raised construction that ran along the top of a sort of dyke. At the rue de Provence it crossed the "great sewer" or , which was approximately two meters wide. Under an ordinance dated 4 December 1720, the street was graded and resurveyed as a wider boulevard with a width of eight ''toises'' and extended to meet the grands boulevards to the south. Giovanni Battista Viotti (12 May 1755 – 3 March 1824) was an Italian violinist whose virtuosity was famed and whose work as a composer featured a prominent violin and an appealing lyrical tunefulness. He was also a director of French and Italian opera companies in Paris and London. He personally knew Joseph Haydn and Ludwig van Beethoven. Biography Viotti was born at Fontanetto Po in the Kingdom of Sardinia (today in the province of Vercelli, Piedmont, Italy). The Théâtre Montansier is a French theatre in rue des Réservoirs, Versailles, near the royal château.
