Frederikshavn () is a Danish town in Frederikshavn municipality, Region Nordjylland, on the northeast coast of the Jutland peninsula in northern Denmark. Its name translates to "Frederik's harbor". Holstebro Håndbold is a women's handball club in the Bambusa Kvindeligaen from Holstebro, Denmark. Their home matches are played in Gråkjær Arena. History Previously, the women's team was part of TTH Holstebro. TTH decided to split up the men's and women's section in each club, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Vendsyssel Håndbold was a handball club from Frederikshavn, Denmark. Vendssysel Håndbold competed in the women's Danish 1st Division, until February 2022. The home arena of the club was DRINX Arena in a small town, outside of Sæby, called Syvsten. It was announced in February 2022, that the club had filed for bankruptcy and the players contracts would be dissolved. The team's placement and points in the Danish 1st Division would also be canceled. The club's licence was thus handed over to the parent club Frederikshavn FI, which was also relegated to the 3rd division in the 2022/23 season. SK Aarhus
SK Aarhus was a Danish women's handball club based in Aarhus. They played in Damehåndboldligaen when the team closed after the 2016-17 season because of financial issues. Aarhus United took over their licence for the league. SK Aarhus has previously also included basketball and volleyball. History SK Aarhus had consistently been at the bottom of Damehåndboldligaen and were relegated to 1. division after the 2004-05 season. They were, however, promoted again after just one season. Randers HK was a women's handball club based in Randers, Denmark. They competed in the Bambusa Kvindeligaen and played their home matches in Arena Randers. In November 2022, the club decided to declare itself bankrupt after failing to raise over DKK 5 million. The club was then withdrawn from the league, with immediately effect. History Randers HK was founded in 1996 as a collaborative effort between several smaller clubs from the Randers Municipality to create a handball team that could represent the region at top level. In 2000, they reached the final of the Women's EHF Challenge Cup. Denmark Women's National Handball Team
The Denmark women's national handball team is the national team of Denmark. It is governed by the Dansk Håndbold Forbund (DHF). In 1997, it became the first Women's Handball team to hold all three major titles simultaneously (The World Championship, The Olympic Championship and The European Championship). Denmark women's handball team is the only team (women's and men's) in handball history to win the Olympic Games three consecutive times, earning the gold medal in 1996, 2000, and 2004. The European Handball Federation (EHF) is the umbrella organisation for European handball. Founded on 17 November 1991, it is made of 50 member federations and two associated federations (England and Scotland), and is headquartered in Vienna, Austria. Handball (also known as team handball, European handball or Olympic handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team. A standard match consists of two periods of 30 minutes, and the team that scores more goals wins. Modern handball is played on a court of , with a goal in the middle of each end.
