Lysekil () is a Urban areas in Sweden, locality and the seat of Lysekil Municipality in Västra Götaland County, Sweden. It had about 7,600 inhabitants in 2018. Situated on the south tip of Stångenäs peninsula at the mouth of Gullmarn fjord, it has two nature reserves. Lysekil Municipality
Lysekil Municipality (''Lysekils kommun'') is a municipality in Västra Götaland County in western Sweden. Its seat is located in the city of Lysekil. The present municipality was formed in 1971, when the ''City of Lysekil'' (instituted as such in 1903) was amalgamated with Stångenäs and the island of Skaftö. Geography Lysekil Municipality borders to the municipalities of Sotenäs (in the north-west), Munkedal (north) and Uddevalla (east). The city of Lysekil is located on the southern tip of the municipality, by the Kattegatt strait. The bay to the east, marking the border to Uddevalla, is called Gullmarsfjorden, or Gullmarn. Preemraff Lysekil
Preemraff Lysekil is an oil refinery located at Brofjorden near the Swedish city of Lysekil. Production Originally named Scanraff, the refinery was taken into use in 1975. The site was selected because of its excellent natural harbour, and the facility can accept supertankers up to . In 2003, the facility was acquired by Preem. Refined products are mainly transported from Preemraff Lysekil using tanker ships. There is no rail connection and the road connections are poor. Preem is the largest supplier of petroleum products in Sweden and its two refineries, Preemraff Göteborg in Gothenburg, and Preemraff Lysekil in Lysekil represent 80 percent of Sweden's refining capacity. The annual capacity of Preemraff Lysekil is around 11 million metric tons of crude oil. Bohus Granite
The Bohus granite ( sv, Bohusgranit) is a type of granite that crops out along the Swedish West Coast in Bohuslän. In Norway the same granites are termed Iddefjord granite ( no, Iddefjordsgranitt), Østfold granite and Halden granite. A large quarrying industry has developed around the granites, mainly producing blocks. Large scale extraction begun in the 1840s and employment in the quarries peaked in the 1920s with over 7,000 people working in the industry. The rock is valued for its durability. In the first half of the 20th century the transport of quarried Bohus granite was done with the aid of by the Lysekil Line. Gullmarn
Gullmarn, also known as Gullmarsfjorden or Gullmaren, is a threshold fjord in the middle of Bohuslän Archipelago on the west coast of Sweden. It is the largest of the Bohuslän fjords with a length of and a width ranging from . At its mouth, the depth is , plunging to at its greatest depth near Alsbäck. The name "Gullmarn" means "God's sea" and comes from Old Norse. At its northern end the fjord branches into the Färlev and Saltkälle fjords.
