Lyn McLean
Lynette Zoe McLean ( – 6 May 2017) was an international lawn bowler from New Zealand. Biography She was educated at Freyberg High School and started bowling in 1975 at Northern Bowling Club. She won two medals at the Asia Pacific Bowls Championships including a gold medal in the 1989 fours, in Suva, Fiji. She won a silver medal in the women's fours with Adrienne Lambert, Marlene Castle and Rhoda Ryan at the 1990 Commonwealth Games in Auckland. Foxton Beach
Foxton Beach is a small settlement in the Horowhenua District of the Manawatū-Whanganui region of New Zealand's North Island. It is located on the South Taranaki Bight at the mouth of the Manawatu River, 35 kilometres southwest of Palmerston North, and six kilometres west of Foxton. Foxton Beach has a permanent population of around 2000 people. The town is a popular holiday destination due mainly to its beach and the bird sanctuary at the Manawatu Estuary. 1990 Commonwealth Games
The 1990 Commonwealth Games ( mi, 1990 Taumāhekeheke Commonwealth) were held in Auckland, New Zealand from 24 January – 3 February 1990. It was the 14th Commonwealth Games, and part of New Zealand's 1990 sesquicentennial celebrations. Participants competed in ten sports: athletics, aquatics, badminton, boxing, cycling, gymnastics, judo, lawn bowls, shooting and weightlifting. Netball and the Triathlon were demonstration events. Rhoda Constance Ryan (née Hawke; 4 January 1925 – 22 April 2002) was an international lawn bowls competitor for New Zealand. Bowls career Ryan won the singles bronze medal at the 1985 World Outdoor Bowls Championship in Melbourne, Australia. Bowls, also known as lawn bowls or lawn bowling, is a sport in which the objective is to roll biased balls so that they stop close to a smaller ball called a "jack" or "kitty". Marlene Castle
Marlene Robyn Castle (born 13 March 1944) is a lawn and indoor bowls international for New Zealand. Bowls career The veteran of four Commonwealth Games won her first medal at the 1990 Commonwealth Games, earning a silver in the women's fours. Again as part of the women's fours team she won a bronze medal at the 1994 Commonwealth Games. Her last Commonwealth medal was at the 2002 Commonwealth Games where she won a bronze in the women's singles. Castle has won twelve medals at the Asia Pacific Bowls Championships including five gold medals. Castle won the 2001 pairs title and the 1999 fours title at the New Zealand National Bowls Championships when bowling for the Orewa Bowls Club. Adrienne Lambert
Adrienne Marie Lambert (née Parker; born ) is a former international lawn bowler from New Zealand. Bowls career Lambert won a gold and silver medals at the 1989 Asia Pacific Bowls Championships, in Suva, Fiji. She went on to win three more medals at further Championships. The following year she won a silver medal in the women's fours with Lyn McLean, Marlene Castle and Rhoda Ryan at the 1990 Commonwealth Games in Auckland. Four years later she won a bronze medal in the women's fours with Ann Muir, Colleen Ferrick and Marlene Castle at the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Victoria, British Columbia. In between the Games, Lambert won double silver in the triples and fours at the 1992 World Outdoor Bowls Championship in Ayr.
