Lyle Lakay
Lyle Lakay (born 17 August 1991) is a South African professional soccer player who plays a midfielder for Mamelodi Sundowns in the Premier Soccer League. Club career He is a product of the SuperSport United's youth academy, he was promoted to the first team in 2009 but spent the 2009–10 season with National First Division side Cape Town. For the 2010–11 season he returned to Supersport United. After another loan spell with FC Cape Town, Lakay joined Bloemfontein Celtic in 2012. 2011 African Youth Championship
The 2011 African Youth Championship was a football tournament for the Under-20 level national teams in Africa. It was due to be held in Libya from 18 March to 1 April. Following political unrest in the region, CAF decided to postpone the tournament, before deciding that South Africa would be the new hosts, with games taking place between 17 April and 2 May. As the Championship also acted as a qualifier for the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup, the tournament would have to be played before the end of June 2011. The tournament was won by Nigeria, who beat Cameroon in the final, to win their sixth title. The South Africa national under-20 football team, is a youth football (soccer) team, which represents South Africa and is controlled by the South African Football Association, the governing body for football in South Africa. The team's main objectives are to qualify and play at the African Youth Championship and FIFA U-20 World Cup. The team has played at seven African Youth Championships and three FIFA U-20 World Cups. History The team was started in 1993, when SAFA decided to form an under-20 team.
