Lydia Obute
Lydia Nnenna Obute is an Austrian model, best known for being the winner of the Cycle three of Austria's Next Topmodel. Early life Obute was born in Lower Austria to Nigerian parents. Prior to her participation on AtNTM, she had some experience as a model walking for fashion designer Thang De Hoo. ''Austria's Next Topmodel'' Being chosen among 4,500 hopefuls to be among the top 36, Obute qualified for the show among the top 4 from the Vienna auditions for the round of the final 14. She was involved in a controversy when fellow contestant Magalie Berghahn referred to her as "Neger Oide" (derogatory Austrian slang equivalent to "negro chick") in Episode 3 while having a phone conversation with her boyfriend that was taped and aired on television. Obute was confronted with that scene which was followed by a disqualification of Berghahn from the show. Austria's Next Topmodel, Cycle 3
Season 3 of Austria's Next Topmodel aired on Puls 4 from January to March 2011. The judging panel consisted of Lena Gercke, Elvyra Geyer, and Atil Kutoglu. Among the prizes were a cover on Austrian magazine ''Woman'', the face of the newest ''Hervis'' campaign as well as two runway jobs at the Milan and Paris Fashion Week. The first episode featured contestants in all nine Austrian federal states and the top four from each state automatically qualified for a spot in the first episode. The top four competed again with the favorite of each state making the final cast directly. Five more contestants were granted wildcard spots, making a total of 14 competing in the remaining episodes. Another change was that there was one casting to book in every episode where the actual job would take place abroad, however only the winner would be allowed to travel there. ''Austria's Next Topmodel'' is an Austrian reality television series based on Tyra Banks's ''America's Next Top Model''. The show sees a series of aspiring models that compete against each other in different competitions, determining who will win the title of ''Austria's Next Topmodel'', among other prizes, with the hope of a successful career in the modeling industry. Season 4 of '' Austria's Next Topmodel'' aired on Puls 4 from January to March 2012. Host Lena Gercke, Elvyra Geyer and Atil Kutoglu all returned as judges. The season premiered on 12 January 2012 and began with 21 semi-finalists, who were joined by Yemisi Rieger, who was chosen by Niki Lauda as a wildcard contestant at a separate casting. Sixteen contestants were chosen to advance to the main competition. On 22 January 2012, during the airing of the season, a contestant, 21-year-old Sabrina Rauch, was killed in a car accident, three days after the airing of the episode she was eliminated in. The program paid tribute to her at the beginning of the following episode. The winner of the competition was 16-year-old Antonia Hausmair, who represented Burgenland. As her prizes, she received a contract with Vienna-based modeling agency Wiener Models, a cover of Austrian ''Woman'' magazine and a position as the face of Kornmesser jewelry.
