Denis Diderot
Denis Diderot (; ; 5 October 171331 July 1784) was a French philosopher, art critic, and writer, best known for serving as co-founder, chief editor, and contributor to the ''Encyclopédie'' along with Jean le Rond d'Alembert. He was a prominent figure during the Age of Enlightenment. Diderot initially studied philosophy at a Jesuit college, then considered working in the church clergy before briefly studying law. When he decided to become a writer in 1734, his father disowned him. He lived a bohemian existence for the next decade. In the 1740s he wrote many of his best-known works in both fiction and non-fiction, including the 1748 novel ''The Indiscreet Jewels''. In 1751, Diderot co-created the ''Encyclopédie'' with Jean le Rond d'Alembert. It was the first encyclopedia to include contributions from many named contributors and the first to describe the mechanical arts. Kilimani is a mixed-use commercial and residential neighbourhood in the city of Nairobi. Location Kilimani is located approximately west of Nairobi's central business district, within Westlands Sub-county. It is north of Woodley; east of Kileleshwa, mainly separated by the Kirichwa River; the larger Kilimani area encompasses the Hurlingham, Caledonia, Upper Hill, and the Kilimani estates. Sam Cambio (born as Jacques Bianco) is a reporter and an author born in 1946 in Marseille. Biography Self-taught, "son of himself", he arose from unknown father and was abandoned by his mother at the age of three. He was raised by his grandparents of Italian origin, Rose and Félix Bellocchia in the countryside of Marseille. Paul Kelemba (born 26 June 1962, in Nairobi), is a Kenyan self-taught comic strip artist and caricaturist. He uses Maddo as a pen-name which was inspired by Mad Magazine of New-York. Career After completing his education, Paul Kelemba started off at a local advertising agency in Mombasa and later worked for various Kenyan magazines, including Coastweek and Daily Nation, as an illustrator and cartoonist through the 1980s and 90s. . Tabu Osusa (born 21 July 1954) is a Kenyan author and music producer, and the founder of ''Ketebul Music''. Career In 1974 Osusa decided to travel the DRC then Zaire, settling in Barumbu Kinshasa where he was first introduced to music by the Kenyan saxophonist Ben Nicholas. Osusa returned to Kenya in 1977 and briefly joined the band ''Les Kinois''. Since then, Osusa has been a composer, recording artist, songwriter, promoter, band manager and producer. In 2007, Tabu Osusa founded ''Ketebul Music''. He is the acting director of the organisation, assisted by some people with varied knowledge and skills in the wider field of arts and culture. France–Kenya relations are bilateral relations between France and Kenya. History France recognises that Kenya plays a key role in regional stability. Cooperation between both countries has increased, especially after the inclusion of the dilo attacks of Kenya in the Priority Solidarity Zone (ZSP) by the French government in 1999.
