Lviv National Academy of Arts is a higher education establishment in Lviv, Ukraine. History Officially opened in September 1946 as the Lviv State Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts, the Academy was reorganized into the Lviv Academy of Arts in 1994. On August 21, 2004 it was granted the status of a national higher educational institution by the Decree of the President of Ukraine for "significant contribution to the development of national education and science, national and international activities". Until 2020, the Lviv National Academy of Arts was subordinated to the Ministry of Education of Ukraine. In 2020, the Ministry of Education and Science transferred the institution to the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine. An art critic is a person who is specialized in analyzing, interpreting, and evaluating art. Faina Petryakova
Faina Petryakova (September 23, 1931 — May 6, 2002) — was a distinguished professor of the The Lviv National Academy of Arts, Lviv Academy of Arts, a recognized figure in the field of ethnography in Ukraine and beyond, and a senior researcher of the Institute of Ethnography at the Lviv branch office of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Legacy Petryakova died in 2002, leaving behind a vast scientific legacy in the field of Ukrainian glass, porcelain, Ceramic art, ceramics and Ukrainian Judaica. Witold Manastyrski
Vitold Antonovich Manastyrsky ( uk, Вітольд Антінович Манастирський, January 11, 1915 – June 23, 1992) was a Soviet artist, painter, graphic artist, and teacher. Manastyrsky was born in Lviv in the family of the Ukrainian artist Antin Manastyrsky. Vitold Antonovich received his initial artistic education at the Lviv Art School (1929–1934), and graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (1935–1939). Manastyrsky was a participant in many regional and international exhibitions. The artist taught drawing and painting at the Lviv Art-Industrial College (now the Ivan Trush Applied Arts College) and was an instructor at The Lviv National Academy of Arts since it opened. Liudmyla Yevhenivna Zhogol (23 May 1930 - 15 April 2015) was a Ukrainian decorative textile artist and one of the founders of the National Tapestry School of Ukraine in the second half of the 20th century.
