Lundtofte is a neighbourhood in Lyngby-Taarbæk Municipality, located north of Kongens Lyngby. Lundtofte Flyveplads
Lundtofte Flyveplads (Lundtofte Aerodrome) is a former airport for both military and civilian use. Currently, the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) is built on the site. The airport opened in 1917 and the last flight was in 1959. History The Royal Danish Navy, navy :da:Flyveskolen, flying school was looking for a new airfield location, since the Kløvermarken airfield they used at the time was to be closed soon due to the expansion of Copenhagen. A suitable area of around was found at Lundtofte. In March 1917, approval was given for the purchase of at the site and budget for construction of airfield facilities was reserved. Inauguration and early years The airfield was inaugurated June 22, 1917. Five aircraft would fly from the old airfield of Kløvermarken to Lundtofte and back again. Lyngby-Taarbæk Municipality (occasionally spelled Lyngby-Tårbæk) is a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') in the Capital Region of Denmark near Copenhagen on the eastern coast of the island of Zealand (Danish: ''Sjælland''). It is part of the Greater Copenhagen area. The municipality borders Rudersdal Municipality to the north, Furesø Municipality to the west and Gladsaxe and Gentofte Municipality to the south. The Capital Region of Denmark ( da, Region Hovedstaden, ) is the easternmost administrative region of Denmark. The Capital Region has 29 municipalities and a regional council consisting of 41 elected members. As of 1 August 2021 the chairperson is Lars Gaardhøj, who is a member of the Social Democrats party of Denmark. The Capital Region was established on 1 January 2007 as part of the 2007 Danish Municipal Reform. Kongens Lyngby (, Danish for "the King's Heather Town"; short form Lyngby) is the seat and commercial centre of Lyngby-Taarbæk Municipality in the northern suburbs of Copenhagen, Denmark. Lyngby Hovedgade is a busy shopping street and the site of a branch of Magasin du Nord as well as Lyngby Storcenter. Mølleåen
Mølleåen, also Mølleå, sometimes translated as the Millstream, is a small river in North Zealand, Denmark, which runs from the west of Bastrup Sø near Lynge to the Øresund between Taarbæk and Skodsborg. The valley contains several country houses and a series of mills which initiated Denmark's industrial development. Course The source of the river is Hettings Mose between the lakes of Buresø and Bastrup Sø. Over the next , the river drops until it reaches the sea.
