Lunar Design
Founded in 1984 by Jeff Smith, Gerard Furbershaw and Robert Brunner, LUNAR (Lunar Design) is a product design and development consultancy headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area. The company's provides industrial, interaction and communication design; video story telling, mechanical and electrical engineering, manufacturing support, user validation, design research, and need finding & assessment. Its current and past clients include Apple Inc., Abbott Labs, Cisco Systems, Hewlett-Packard, Johnson & Johnson, Microsoft, Motorola, Philips, Oral-B, Palm, Pepsi and Sony. Robert Brunner
Robert Brunner (born 1958) is an American industrial designer. Brunner was the Director of Industrial Design for Apple Computer from 1989 to 1996 and is a founder and current partner at Ammunition Design Group. Biography Brunner received a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Design from San José State University in 1981. After working as a designer and project manager at several high technology companies, Brunner went on to found Lunar Design in 1984, in 1989, Brunner accepted the position of Director of Industrial Design at Apple Computer, where he provided design and direction for all Apple product lines, including the PowerBook. He was succeeded by Jonathan Ive in 1997. Brunner claims that while with Apple, he hired Ive three times. Pepsi
Pepsi is a carbonated soft drink manufactured by PepsiCo. Originally created and developed in 1893 by Caleb Bradham and introduced as Brad's Drink, it was renamed as Pepsi-Cola in 1898, and then shortened to Pepsi in 1961. History Pepsi was first invented in 1893 as "Brad's Drink" by Caleb Bradham, who sold the drink at his drugstore in New Bern, North Carolina. Industrial Design Excellence Award
The International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) is an award program previously co-sponsored by ''BusinessWeek'' magazine, and in 2010 ''Fast Company'' magazine and the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA). According to the IDSA, IDEA "is dedicated to fostering business and public understanding of the importance of industrial design excellence to the quality of life and economy". Every year, designers and corporations submit entries into the competition in many categories. The program was established in 1980. The Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) is a membership-based not-for-profit organization that promotes the practice and education of industrial design. The organization was formally established in 1965 by the collaborative merger of the Industrial Designers Institute (IDI), the American Society of Industrial Designers (ASID), and the Industrial Designers Education Association (IDEA). Mark Dziersk
Mark Dziersk (1959 – January 31, 2020) was an American industrial designer based in Chicago, Illinois. Biography Mark Dziersk was born in Detroit, Michigan and graduated from the University of Michigan in 1981 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Industrial Design. He started his career at GenRad (formerly General Radio) in Massachusetts. Later he moved to his current home in Illinois where he lived with his wife, Elizabeth, and daughters. Dziersk finished his career as Managing Director of LUNAR, in Chicago, and an adjunct professor for the Master of Product Design and Development Management Program (MPD²) at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. A very broad coefficient and effective generation and development of ideas through a process that leads to new products. Thus, it is a major aspect of new product development. Product design process: the set of strategic and tactical activities, from idea generation to commercialization, used to create a product design. In a systematic approach, product designers conceptualize and evaluate ideas, turning them into tangible inventions and products. The product designer's role is to combine art, science, and technology to create new products that people can use.
