Lumachan Station
Lumachan () is a railway station on the Alishan Forest Railway line located in Zhuqi Township, Chiayi County, Taiwan. History The station building was originally constructed in 1910 during the Japanese rule. The service stopped in November 1982 after the opening of Provincial Highway 18. As the tourism activities in the area started to grow in the 2000s, the station was restored in December 2004. The station master quarter was restored in April 2006. Chiayi County
Chiayi County ( Mandarin pinyin: ''jiā yì xiàn''; Hokkien POJ: ''Ka-gī-koān'') is a county in southwestern Taiwan surrounding but not including Chiayi City. It is the sixth largest county in Taiwan. Name The former Chinese placename was Tsu-lo-san (), a representation of the original Formosan-language name ''Tirosen''. A shortened version, Tsulo, was then used to name Tsulo County, which originally covered the underdeveloped northern two-thirds of the island. In 1704, the county seat was moved to Tsulosan, the site of modern-day Chiayi City. Following the 1723 Zhu Yigui rebellion, the county was reduced in size. Provincial Highway 18 (Taiwan)
Taiwan Provincial Highway No. 18 is a highway between Taibao in Chiayi County to Provincial Highway No. 21 at Tatajia (Tataka) in Yushan National Park. It is also called the New Central Cross-Island Highway(新中橫公路) and Alishan Highway(阿里山公路). The highway connects Chiayi City and the rest of Western Taiwan to Alishan National Scenic Area and Yushan National Park. The overall length of the highway is 108.559 km. Renyitan Dam
The Renyitan Dam () is a dam in Fanlu Township, Chiayi County, Taiwan. History The dam was initially constructed in April 1980 on Renyi Lake and was opened in October 1987. Technical specifications The water intake for the reservoir inside the dam comes from Bazhang River. The reservoir has a full capacity of 29,110,000 m3 and an effective capacity of 27,310,000 m3.
