Luke Machin
Luke Machin (born 22 November 1988) is an English progressive rock guitarist, composer and record producer known as a member of The Tangent and Karnataka (band), Karnataka, as well as founding member of Maschine. He has been named in Prog' Magazine's top ten guitarists of the year for 4 years, alongside Steve Hackett, Guthrie Govan, Steve Howe, David Gilmour and Steve Rothery. Biography Machin started playing guitar at age 2 or 3. He studied at Brighton Institute of Modern Music (BIMM) between 2007 and 2010, playing under Guthrie Govan and with the likes of Jeff Beck, Francis Dunnery, Pain of Salvation and Robert Plant, by the age of 22. Machin formed Maschine in 2008 while studying at BIMM. The band consists of Machin (guitar, vocals), Dan Mash (bass, vocals), Marie-Eve De Gaultier (keyboards, vocals), Andy Morgan (guitar, vocals), James Stewart (drums). Karnataka (band)
Karnataka are a Welsh progressive rock band formed in 1997 by Ian Jones (bass/acoustic guitar), Jonathan Edwards (keyboards) and Rachel Jones (vocals). The band started as a project to record songs in Ian's home studio, that had been written and performed by Jonathan, Rachel and Ian in earlier bands. The project was augmented by additional musicians, Paul Davies (electric guitars) and Gavin Griffiths (drums), who had played with other members of Karnataka in earlier bands. At the end of the recording the decision was made to continue the project as a band. The name Karnataka was chosen by the band, from a suggestion by Ian, following his trips to that state of India. Robert Plant
Robert Anthony Plant (born 20 August 1948) is an English singer and songwriter, best known as the lead singer and lyricist of the English rock band Led Zeppelin for all of its existence from 1968 until 1980, when the band broke up following the death of John Bonham, the band's drummer. Plant was inducted with the band into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995. Plant enjoyed great success with Led Zeppelin from the late 1960s to the end of the 1970s. Peter Jones (British Musician)
Peter Jones (born 6 October 1980) is a British musician. His multi-instrumental skills range from vocals to keyboards, piano, guitar, bass, saxophone, clarinet, recorder, whistles, and various percussion instruments. Jones lost his sight at 15 months due to retinoblastoma, a form of cancer that attacks the light sensing portion of the eyes. He took to music learning his variety of instruments. He first came to prominence on the TV show '' Star for a Night'' in 2001, performing with his friend Emma Paine. The two teamed up again as 2 to Go in the first season of the TV series ''The X Factor'' with a national tour following suit. Camel (band)
Camel are an English progressive rock band formed in Guildford, Surrey, in 1971. Led by guitarist Andrew Latimer, they have released fourteen studio albums and fourteen singles, plus numerous live albums and DVDs. Without achieving mass popularity, the band gained a cult following in the 1970s with albums such as ''Mirage'' (1974) and '' The Snow Goose'' (1975). They moved into a jazzier, more commercial direction in the early 1980s, but then went on an extended hiatus. Since 1991 the band has been independent, releasing albums on their own label. Magenta are a Welsh progressive rock band formed in 1999 by ex-Cyan member Rob Reed. Reed takes his influences from artists such as Renaissance, Genesis, Mike Oldfield, Yes, Eurythmics and Björk. Jonas Reingold (born 22 April 1969) is a Swedish bass guitarist from Malmö. Biography Reingold started to play bass in 1986 when he subbed for a friend in the local famous act WIRE. The band was happy with his performance and offered him the spot. From 1988 until 1994, he studied music and achieved a master's degree of fine arts in 1994. Busy working as a session player between 1994 and 1996 he finally released his debut album as a band leader in 1995, which was called ''Sweden Bass Orchestra''. Marco Minnemann (born 24 December 1970) is a German drummer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist.
