Luke Frost (rugby Union)
Luke Frost is a British abstract painter living in Cornwall, and is the son of the English painter Anthony Frost and the grandson of Sir Terry Frost. His work featured in the "Art Now Cornwall" exhibition, at Tate St Ives, 2007, and he was Artist in Residence at Tate St Ives in 2008 following with a solo show from 24 January to 4 May 2009 . Anthony Frost
Anthony Frost (born 1951) is a British painter noted for his abstract works consisting of brightly coloured prints and collages. Biography Frost was born in St. Ives, Cornwall, the son of Sir Terry Frost. From 1970 to 1973 he studied at the Cardiff College of Art gaining a BA (Hons) in Fine Art. His work featured in the "Art Now Cornwall" exhibition at Tate St Ives in 2007. He has been Artist-in-residence at the Cyprus College of Art, Paphos and the Montmiral School of Painting, France. Frost is a fan of The Fall and his work appears on a number of their record covers, most notably ''Extricate''. The painter's works are included in the public art collections of the Kasser Mochary Foundation, New York and King's College, Cambridge. Sir Terence Ernest Manitou Frost Royal Academician, RA (13 October 1915 – 1 September 2003) was a British abstract artist, who worked in Newlyn, Cornwall. Frost was renowned for his use of the Cornish light, colour and shape to start a new art movement in England. He became a leading exponent of abstract art and a recognised figure of the British art establishment. Career Born in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, in 1915, he did not become an artist until he was in his 30s. He left school aged fourteen and went to work at Curry's cycle shop and then at Armstrong Whitworth in Coventry. During World War II, he served in France, the Middle East and Greece, before joining the commandos. Whilst serving with the commandos in Crete in June 1941 he was captured and sent to various prisoner of war camps. Tate St Ives
Tate St Ives is an art gallery in St Ives, Cornwall, England, exhibiting work by modern British artists with links to the St Ives area. The Tate also took over management of another museum in the town, the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden, in 1980. The Tate St Ives was built between 1988 and 1993 on the site of an old gasworks and looks over Porthmeor beach. In 2015, it received funding for an expansion, doubling the size of the gallery, and closed in October 2015 for refurbishment.
