Luke Brown (footballer, Born 1992)
Luke Brown (born 22 September 1992) is a former professional Australian rules football player who played for the Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was first recruited by incoming club as a pre-selection and was then traded to Adelaide during the 2011 trade week. AFL career After strong performances for in the SANFL, Brown was twice named an emergency for Adelaide in mid-2012. He ultimately made his debut in round 16, against at Skoda Stadium, and went on to play three games for Adelaide that season as well as playing in the SANFL Grand Final for Norwood. Brown established himself in Adelaide's team as a negating small defender in 2013, filling the role vacated by retired veteran Michael Doughty and playing 21 of a possible 22 games. He signed a two-year deal with the club early in the year, and was nominated for the 2013 AFL Rising Star award in the final round of the season. Tea Tree Gully Football Club
The Tea Tree Gully District Football Club is an Australian rules football club located in Banksia Park, South Australia. Tea Tree Gully currently plays in the Adelaide Footy League, formerly known as the "South Australian Amateur Football League" (SAAFL). History The club was originally part of " Modbury F.C." in 1862, but it soon split apart from them to form their own institution. Tea Tree played its first game against the "Adelaidians" in a paddock near Modbury on 30 August 1862. It ended when the "Adelaidians" scored their second goal and won the game. The club's original home was at Memorial Oval, operating out of a tin shed. These relatively primitive facilities prevailed until its current home at Pertaringa Oval was opened in 1964. Michael Doughty (Australian Footballer)
Michael Doughty (born 5 August 1979) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL) between 2000 and 2012. He is now playing for Reynella Football Club in the Southern Football League, where he played junior football. Originally from South Adelaide Football Club in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL), Doughty was drafted by Adelaide with their first choice (fourth overall) at the 1999 Rookie Draft and elevated to Adelaide's senior list in 2000 when he made his senior AFL debut. Known as a solid utility player, Doughty has most often used as a midfielder, tagger or a small defender. Doughty played his 150th game in round 8, 2009 and his 200th game in Round 15, 2011. AFL Rising Star
The AFL Rising Star is an Australian rules football award presented annually to the player adjudged the best young player in the Australian Football League (AFL) for the year. It was first presented in the 1993 season, and was won by Nathan Buckley, playing for the Brisbane Bears. The recipient of the AFL Rising Star has been awarded the Ron Evans Medal since 2007, named in honour of the former AFL Commission chairman following his death that year.
