Luisa Maia
Luisa Gomes Maia (born 10 October, 2006) is a Brazilian artistic gymnast and a member of the Brazilian national gymnastics team. She is part of the team that got the unprecedented bronze medal for Brazil, at the DTB Pokal Mixed Cup, surpassing the United States team. Career 2022 At the Gymnasiade, Luisa Maia, alongside Júlia Soares, Rafaela Oliva, Camille Fonseca and Marcela Meirelles reached the fourth position at the team final. Maia finished eighth and sixth in the all-around and uneven bars finals, respectively. In August, during the Brazilian Championships, Maia debuted in her new club, Flamengo, helping her new teammates Rebeca Andrade, Flávia Saraiva, Lorrane Oliveira, Hellen Carvalho and Larissa Oliveira dominate the field by more than 22 points. Carolyne Mercer Winche Pedro (born 6 July 2000) is a Brazilian artistic gymnast and a member of the national team. She participated in the 2019 Pan American Games. Career Pedro took part at the 2016 Gymnastics Olympic Test Event helping the Brazilian team qualify for the 2016 Olympic Games and earning the gold medal in the team all-around competition. She was named as the alternate to the 2016 Olympic team. She also earned the bronze medal on floor at the São Paulo stage of the 2016 FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup series. In gymnastics, the floor is a specially prepared exercise surface, which is considered an apparatus. It is used by both male and female gymnasts. The gymnastics event performed on the floor is called floor exercise. The English abbreviation for the event in gymnastics scoring is FX. A spring floor is used in all of gymnastics to provide more bounce, and also help prevent potential injuries to lower extremity joints of gymnasts due to the nature of the apparatus, which includes the repeated pounding required to train it.
