Luisa Adorno, pseudonym of Mila Curradi (2 August 1921 – 12 July 2021) was an Italian writer and teacher. Biography Adorno spent her career as a secondary school teacher. She collaborated with the magazines '' Il Mondo'', ', ''L'Indice dei libri del mese'', ''Abitare'', and '. In 2005, she was a judge for the . In 1963, Adorno was awarded the Premio Alpi Apuane. In 1985, she was given the Premio Prato-Europa and the for ''Le dorate stanze''. ItalianIn 1990, she won the Viareggio Prize for ''Arco di luminara''. In 1999, a collection of her works was housed in the Archivio di Stato di Firenze, where it remains to this day. That same year, she was awarded the Premio Vittorini for ''Sebben che siamo donne''. The Order of Merit of the Italian Republic ( it, Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana) is the senior Italian order of merit. It was established in 1951 by the second President of the Italian Republic, Luigi Einaudi. The highest-ranking honour of the Republic, it is awarded for "merit acquired by the nation" in the fields of literature, the arts, economy, public service, and social, philanthropic and humanitarian activities and for long and conspicuous service in civilian and military careers. The post-nominal letters for the order are OMRI. ''la Repubblica'' (; the Republic) is an Italian daily general-interest newspaper. It was founded in 1976 in Rome by Gruppo Editoriale L'Espresso (now known as GEDI Gruppo Editoriale) and led by Eugenio Scalfari, Carlo Caracciolo and Arnoldo Mondadori Editore. Born as a leftist newspaper, it has since moderated to a milder centre-left political stance, and moved further to the centre after the appointment of Maurizio Molinari as editor. History Foundation ''la Repubblica'' was founded by Eugenio Scalfari, previously director of the weekly magazine ''L'Espresso''. The publisher Carlo Caracciolo and Mondadori had invested 2.3 billion lire (half each) and a break-even point was calculated at 150,000 copies. Archivio Di Stato Di Firenze
The Archivio di Stato di Firenze, is the repository for the public records and archives of the Italian city of Florence. The archive holds over 600 fonds dating back to the 8th century which, laid out in a line, would stretch over 75 km (46 miles). It was founded on February 20th 1852 by decree of the Grand Duke Leopoldo II of Tuscany. Until 1989, the archive was located in the Uffizi. On November 4th, 1966 the River Arno flooded, causing damage to over 60,000 pieces of archival material. The flood instigated the decision to construct a modern building for the archives further from the River Arno. The new building, designed by Italo Gamberini and his team of architects, was begun in 1974. It included a space for the conservation laboratory, which was founded shortly after the 1966 to recover damaged documents.
