Luis Larraín
Luis Larraín Stieb (30 December 1980 – 17 November 2023) was a Chilean LGBT rights in Chile, LGBT rights activist. In 2013, Larraín succeeded writer Pablo Simonetti as president of Fundación Iguales, a major LGBT rights organization in Chile. As president of the foundation, despite undergoing two kidney transplants, Larraín became one of the main campaigners to achieve Recognition of same-sex unions in Chile, the approval of a civil union law in notoriously conservative Chile. Since 22 October 2015, same-sex couples and households headed by same-sex couples have the same legal protections available to opposite-sex married couples within a civil union, except for adoption rights and the title of marriage. Fundación Iguales also promotes dialogue and cooperation with partner groups made up of women and Indigenous peoples. LGBT Rights In Chile
Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) civil rights in Chile have advanced significantly in the 21st century and are now quite progressive. Both male and female same-sex sexual activity is legal in Chile only since 1999, being one the latest South American countries to do so. In 2012, a law banning all discrimination and hate crimes based on sexual orientation and gender identity was approved. Since then, the Chilean Armed Forces allow gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgender people to openly serve. LGBT people are allowed to donate blood without restrictions since 2013. Citizens ( es, Ciudadanos , called Public Force between 2013 and 2015) was a Chilean political party founded in 2013, with members comprising militants and independents of the center and center-left whose beliefs did not align with New Majority or Chile Vamos. Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma
Non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL), also known as non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, is a group of blood cancers that includes all types of lymphomas except Hodgkin lymphomas. Symptoms include enlarged lymph nodes, fever, night sweats, weight loss, and tiredness. Other symptoms may include bone pain, chest pain, or itchiness. Some forms are slow-growing while others are fast-growing. Lymphomas are types of cancer that develop from lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell. Risk factors include poor immune function, autoimmune diseases, ''Helicobacter pylori'' infection, hepatitis C, obesity, and Epstein–Barr virus infection.
