Luis Ángel César Sampedro (born 3 May 1966), known as Luis César, is a Spanish retired footballer who played as a goalkeeper, currently a manager. Playing career Born in Vilagarcía de Arousa, Province of Pontevedra, Luis César played for Racing de Ferrol for nearly a decade, never appearing in higher than Segunda División B. In 2000, precisely after the Galician club returned to the Segunda División after a 21-year absence, he retired from the game at the age of 34. Coaching career Immediately after retiring, César began coaching his only club, being relegated from division two in his third season and promoting immediately. In 2004, he signed with another team in the second tier, Gimnàstic de Tarragona. Luis César led ''Nàstic'' to La Liga in the 2005–06 campaign, with the Catalans returning to the tournament after 56 years. Segunda División B ( en, Second Division B) was the third tier of the Spanish football league system containing 102 teams divided into five groups, until it was replaced by the new structure in 2021. It was administered by the Royal Spanish Football Federation. Fernando Castro Santos (born 20 February 1952) is a Spanish retired footballer who played as a defender, and a retired manager. During his career, he worked in several clubs in his country as well as in Portugal. Football career Born in Poio, Province of Pontevedra, Santos began working as a manager at only 30 with local Pontevedra CF, before moving to Galician neighbours SD Compostela in 1989. During his six-year spell at the latter club, he led it from the fourth division to La Liga. After helping ''Compos'' retain their top flight status in the 1994–95 season, Santos stayed in the region, signing with Celta de Vigo and remaining there for two years. The 2007–08 season was the 77th in the history of the Segunda División (known as the Liga BBVA for sponsorship reasons), the second tier of the Spanish football league system. The first matches of the season were played on 25 August 2007, and the season ended on 15 June 2008. Celta de Vigo, Real Sociedad, and Gimnàstic de Tarragona were the teams which were relegated from La Liga the previous season. Racing de Ferrol, Eibar, Sevilla Atlético, and Córdoba were the teams which were promoted from Segunda División B the previous season.
