Luigi Covatta
Luigi Covatta (15 May 1943 – 18 April 2021) was an Italian politician and journalist. A member of the Italian Socialist Party, he served in the Chamber of Deputies from 1979 to 1983 and the Senate of the Republic from 1983 to 1994. Biography As a student, Covatta worked for . In the 1972 Italian general election, he supported of the Workers' Political Movement. After a disappointing performance for the party, he joined the Italian Socialist Party (PSI). From 1979 to 1994, he served in the Italian Parliament, first in the Chamber of Deputies and subsequently in the Senate. In the 1994 Italian general election, he ran in the Pact for Italy alliance but was defeated and retired from politics. Covatta also pursued a career in journalism, becoming political director for '' Mondoperaio'' in 2009. Forio
Forio (known also as ''Forio of Ischia'') is a town and ''comune'' of c. 17,000 inhabitants in the Metropolitan City of Naples, southern Italy, situated on the island of Ischia. Overview Its territory includes the town of Panza, the only ''frazione'' of Forio and of the island of Ischia. Panza has always been an independent village since the 16th century when a first governmental organization was introduced on the island. In the 1975 the inhabitants of Panza tried to become an independent ''comune'' but the referendum, claimed by the inhabitants of Forio, was denied by the Campania's Regional Government. There are numerous coastal watchtowers, built from the Middle Ages against Saracen and African pirates raids. History and Overview The magazine began on 4 December 1948 as ''Mondo Operaio'', on the initiative of the former Italian minister of foreign affairs and Socialist leader Pietro Nenni.
