Luduș (; Hungarian: ''Marosludas'' or ''Ludas''; Hungarian pronunciation: , German: ''Ludasch'') is a town in Transylvania, Romania in Mureș County, 44 km south-west from the county's capital Târgu Mureș. Six villages are administered by the town: Avrămești (''Eckentelep''), Cioarga (''Csorga''), Ciurgău (''Csorgó''), Fundătura (''Mezőalbisitelep'' or ''Belsőtelep''), Gheja (''Marosgezse'') and Roșiori (''Andrássytelep''). History * 1330 – First mentioned as Plehanus de Ludas. * 1377 – Mentioned in a transaction between two Hungarian nobles. * 1930 – 5,085 inhabitants. * 1940 to 1944, Hungarians occupied the town. Dănuț Borbil
Dănuț Borbil (born February 18, 1973 in Luduș) is a professional Romanian armwrestler, the current national champion for the left arm, and vice-champion for the right arm. At he is the heaviest professional armwrestling participant from Romania. Biography Dănuț Borbil first competed in a professional armwrestling championship at the Baia Mare Grand Prix in 2006 finishing fifth in both the left and the right arm competitions. After this championship he signed a contract with Edy Gym in Luduș that stated he would represent this club in every competition he entered including national, European and world championships. His first important title was first place at the annual ''Iron Arms Luduș'' championship held in 2006. Luduș Massacre
The Luduș massacre occurred in the village of Luduș ( hu, Marosludas), in the Kingdom of Romania. Between 5 and 13 September 1944, on the outskirts of the village, the Royal Hungarian Army occupied the village and, with the help of natives, shot 15 Jews and 2 Romanians: Mihai Polac, Vilma Polac and their daughters Rozalia and Maria, Iosif Gluck and his daughter Rozalia, Mauriciu Fred, Ghizela Fred, Maria Kopstein, Adelca Izrael and the Haller sisters (Sarolta, Fani and Rozalia). The latter five were raped and subsequently murdered in the Haller sisters' home. Following the recovery of the village, an investigation was started to find the culprits of the massacre. Investigations took place from 1945 to 1946. László Sepsi (; born 7 June 1987) is a Romanian former professional footballer who played as a left back. Club career Early career Born in Luduș of Hungarian descent, Sepsi made his professional debut with CS Gaz Metan Mediaș, making 24 Liga I appearances and scoring one goal. In 2005 he moved abroad, signing for Stade Rennais F.C. and being brought to the French club by compatriot László Bölöni, the team's manager. Tara (von Neudorf) (born 1974 in Luduș, Transylvania) is a contemporary Romanian artist. Life He studied in the Faculty of Printmaking and then in the Faculty of Painting at the Art and Design University of Cluj-Napoca. Since 2005 he has been connected with Anaid Art Gallery in Bucharest, which has organised major exhibitions of his work: “Black Rumania” (2005), “Finis Mundi” (2007), “Generation Djihad” (2009), and “Raving History” (2012). He has also had shows abroad, in countries including the Netherlands, Germany, the USA and Hungary. In 2012 he was awarded the Strabag Artaward International and an exhibition of his works was held in Vienna. His first show in Poland, "Cartographer of Sinister History. Mureș County
Mureș County (, ro, Județul Mures, hu, Maros megye) is a county (''județ'') of Romania, in the historical region of Transylvania, with the administrative centre in Târgu Mureș. Andreo Cseh
Andreo Cseh (born András Cseh; 12 September 1895, in Marosludas, Hungary – 9 March 1979, in the Hague, Netherlands) was a Hungarian/Dutch Roman Catholic priest and Esperantist known for inventing the Cseh method of Esperanto instruction. Biography Cseh, an Esperantist since 1910, became a Catholic priest in 1919. In Sibiu in 1920, he designed the famous Cseh method of Esperanto instruction. Because of the method's success, Cseh was invited to Târgu Mureș, where he led several Esperanto courses. From there he went to Cluj, where he led courses and began to reorganize the Romanian Esperanto movement. In the autumn of 1922, he traveled to Bucharest on the invitation of Henriko Fischer-Galați, with whom he founded the Romanian Esperanto Center (''Esperanto-Centro Rumana'').
