Lucija Zaninović
Lucija Zaninović (born 26 June 1987, in Split) is a Croatian taekwondo practitioner. She is the twin sister of taekwondo practitioner Ana Zaninović. Zaninović won the gold medal in the women's flyweight class at the 2010 European Taekwondo Championships held in Saint Petersburg. Zaninović qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics after winning the silver medal in the women's 49 kg class at the 2011 World Taekwondo Olympic Qualification Tournament held in Baku. She withdrew in the final match against Olympic champion Wu Jingyu and was the only European to qualify through the Qualification Tournament. In 2012, she defended the European title in the women's flyweight class after defeating Kristina Kim at the 2012 European Taekwondo Championships held in Manchester. Catherine Seulki Kang (born 25 September 1987) is a South Korean-born naturalized Central African taekwondo practitioner. She competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the Women's 49 kg event. On 8 August, she was defeated in the preliminary round against Lucija Zaninović of Croatia. Personal life Kang was born in Gunsan, Jeonbuk province and resides at Busan in South Korea. She graduated from Gyeonggi Science High School and Woosuk University. The women's 49 kg competition at the 2012 Summer Olympics was held on 8 August, at the ExCeL London. Competition format The main bracket consisted of a single elimination tournament, culminating in the gold medal match. Two bronze medals were awarded at the Taekwondo competitions. A repechage was used to determine the bronze medal winners. Every competitor who lost to one of the two finalists competed in the repechage, another single-elimination competition. Each semifinal loser faced the last remaining repechage competitor from the opposite half of the bracket in a bronze medal match. Wu Jingyu (; born February 1, 1987) is a female Chinese Taekwondo practitioner who won gold medals at the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics in the –49 kg class. She also won several medals at world championships and Asian Games. Biography Wu Jingyu started training in taekwondo aged 13. Her signature moves are axe kicks. As of 2012 she was a student at the Tianjin University of Technology and Suzhou University of Science and Technology. Her hobbies are music, movies and drawing sayings on porcelain. The 2011 World Taekwondo Olympic Qualification Tournament for the London Olympic Games was held at the Sarhadchi Olympic Center in Baku, Azerbaijan from June 30 to July 3, 2011.
