Lucas Van Merwijk
Lucas van Merwijk (born 1961) is a Dutch drummer, bandleader, and professor who has made contributions to the European jazz, Latin music, and Drum kit, drums-Percussion instrument, percussion scene since the early eighties. He has received numerous awards, including being named 'Best Jazz Drummer' and 'Best Fusion Drummer' in the Benelux countries by the readers of the magazine ''De Slagwerkkrant'' between 1993 and 2020. Lucas van Merwijk is currently a professor of drums at the Jazz Department of the Conservatory of Amsterdam and a professor of drums and Latin percussion at the World Music Department of Codarts in the Netherlands. He is also a teacher and clinician at 9Beats in Tianjin, Beijing, China. Jessye Norman
Jessye Mae Norman (September 15, 1945 – September 30, 2019) was an American opera singer and recitalist. She was able to perform dramatic soprano roles, but refused to be limited to that voice type. A commanding presence on operatic, concert and recital stages, Norman was associated with roles including Beethoven's Leonore, Wagner's Sieglinde and Kundry, Cassandre and Didon by Berlioz and Bartók's Judith. Manou N'Guessan Gallo (born 31 August 1972 in Divo, Côte d'Ivoire), is a West African singer, bandleader and musician of African popular music, playing the Bass guitar, electric bass guitar. Life and career Brought up by her grandmother, Gallo first performed at the age of 12 and went on to become a success, touring in various African countries such as Burkina Faso, Mali, Togo and Benin as well as recording four albums. When the group Woya eventually stopped, Gallo followed Marcellin Yacé to Abidjan. He gave her her first bass guitar and taught her about recording. Christiaan Herbert "Chris" Hinze (born June 30, 1938, Hilversum, Netherlands) is a Dutch jazz and New age flautist. Life an work Hinze initially performed publicly as a pianist until the mid-1960s, when he began studying flute at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague and then at Berklee College of Music. As a pianist, he played with Boy Edgar until 1966, but by 1967 was playing flute professionally with the bassist Dick van der Capellen. Metropole Orkest
The Metropole Orkest (Metropole Orchestra) is a jazz and pop orchestra based in the Netherlands, and is the largest full-time ensemble of its kind in the world. A hybrid orchestra, it is a combination of jazz, big band and symphony orchestra. Comprising 52–97 musicians, it is versatile across many musical forms, and is equipped with a "double rhythm section" – one for pop and rock, and one for jazz based music.
