Lowe's Canada
Lowe's Canada, Inc. was the Canadian subsidiary of American home improvement chain Lowe's. The Lowe's chain began an expansion into Canada in 2007, beginning with locations in Ontario, and later expanding into other provinces. In 2016, the company acquired its Canadian rival Rona Inc. for Canadian dollar, CDN$3.2 billion, assuming control of its store banners and relocating its operations to Rona's headquarters in Boucherville, Quebec. Some of Rona's locations were converted to the Lowe's banner. In November 2022, Lowe's announced that it would sell its Canadian operations to Sycamore Partners for $400 million. Following the completion of the sale in 2023, Sycamore began to phase out the Lowe's brand in Canada, replacing it with the new Rona banner Rona+. The company's home office is in Littlefield, Texas. History Lowe's Market traces its history to E.M. Oculocerebrorenal syndrome (also called Lowe syndrome) is a rare X-linked recessive disorder characterized by congenital cataracts, hypotonia, intellectual disability, proximal tubular acidosis, aminoaciduria and low-molecular-weight proteinuria. Lowe syndrome can be considered a cause of Fanconi syndrome (bicarbonaturia, renal tubular acidosis, potassium loss and sodium loss). Signs and symptoms Boys with Lowe syndrome are born with cataracts in both eyes; glaucoma is present in about half of the individuals with Lowe syndrome, though usually not at birth. While not present at birth, kidney problems develop in many affected boys at about one year of age. Renal pathology is characterized by an abnormal loss of certain substances into the urine, including bicarbonate, sodium, potassium, amino acids, organic acids, albumin, calcium and L-carnitine. Bob Lowes
Robert Lowes (born January 21, 1963) is a Canadian ice hockey executive, and former Coach (ice hockey), ice hockey coach. He has worked as the assistant director of player personnel for the Vegas Golden Knights since 2016. Lowes led the Nipawin Hawks to the 1990 ANAVET Cup championship, before being a head coach in the Western Hockey League (WHL) for 12 seasons with the Brandon Wheat Kings, and the Regina Pats. He twice won the Dunc McCallum Memorial Trophy as the WHL Coach of the Year, and twice won the Brian Kilrea Coach of the Year Award, CHL Coach of the Year Award. Lowes also coached the Canada men's national under-18 ice hockey team, and later became director of amateur scouting for the Ottawa Senators. James Lowes is a former professional rugby league footballer, and coach. He played for Hunslet and Leeds, but arguably his best years were spent with the Bradford Bulls, where he won many trophies. He played there from 1996 to 2003. Club career Lowes began his career at Hunslet, moving to Leeds in 1992, before joining Bradford for the inaugural Super League season. Lowes was the 1997 Bradford Bulls season's top try scorer, and won the Man of Steel Award as the Bradford Bulls claimed their first Super League championship. John Livingston Lowes
John Livingston Lowes (December 20, 1867, Decatur, Indiana – August 15, 1945, Boston, Massachusetts) was an American scholar and critic of English literature, specializing in Samuel Taylor Coleridge and Geoffrey Chaucer. Life Lowes earned a B.A. from Washington and Jefferson College in 1888 and did postgraduate work in Germany and at Harvard University. He taught mathematics at Washington and Jefferson College until 1891 when he received his M.A. From 1909 to 1918 he worked as an English professor at Washington University in St. Louis, where he also served as dean of arts and sciences. From 1918 to 1939 he taught English at Harvard. In 1919 he was the Lowell Institute lecturer and the author of ''Convention and Revolt in Poetry.'' His grandfather was David Elliott, who had served as President of Washington College. Lowes died in Boston, Massachusetts, aged 77.
