Lovre Bašić
Lovre Bašić (born 10 January 1995) is a Croatian professional basketball player currently playing for Egis Körmend of the Hungarian League. Standing at 1.90 m, he plays at the point guard position. Playing career Bašić grew up playing as a point guard for Zadar of the Croatian League. On the beginning of the 2015–16 season he became the second youngest captain in history of the club, Giuseppe Gjergja being the only younger one in 1957. In August, 2019, he moved to Vrijednosnice Osijek. In May 2020, Bašić moved to Liège Basket of the Belgian League. He parted ways with the team on September 21, 2021. In November, 2021, Bašić signed with Jazine, the development team of Zadar competing in the Croatian second-tier Prva muška liga. He averaged 12 points, 5.8 assists, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game. On February 9, 2022, Bašić signed with HKK Posušje of the Basketball Championship of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Point Guard
The point guard (PG), also called the one or the point, is one of the five positions in a regulation basketball game. A point guard has perhaps the most specialized role of any position. Point guards are expected to run the team's offense by controlling the ball and making sure that it gets to the right player at the right time. Above all, the point guard must understand and accept their coach's game plan; in this way, the position can be compared to a quarterback in American football. Croatia National Basketball Team
The Croatia men's national basketball team ( hr, Hrvatska košarkaška reprezentacija) represents Croatia in international basketball matches. The team is controlled by the Croatian Basketball Federation (HKS). The biggest success Croatia has achieved was at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics when the team reached the final against the United States and won the silver medal. Croatia has also won one bronze medal at the FIBA World Cup and two bronze medals at EuroBasket. Croatia's Krešimir Ćosić, Dražen Petrović, Dino Rađa, Mirko Novosel and Toni Kukoč are members of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. The Basketball Championship of Bosnia and Herzegovina is the top–tier men's professional basketball league in Bosnia and Herzegovina for men and women, respectively. The league is operated by the Basketball Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Competition format The league is composed of 12 teams, each playing against the other eleven two times, home and away. The Pro Basketball League (PBL), was the highest tier level professional basketball league in Belgium for clubs. In 2021, the league was succeeded by the Belgian-Dutch BNXT League.
