Lovett Bay is a suburb and adjacent bay in northern Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. It is 36 kilometres north of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of Northern Beaches Council. Lovett Lake is a lake in the community of Beechville in the Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia, Canada. The Lovett River is a short river in the Alberta foothills. The Lovett is an early tributary of the Pembina River (Alberta), Pembina River, itself a major tributary of the Athabasca River. Lovett Shaizer Purnell (born April 7, 1972), is a former American football tight end in the National Football League. Purnell attended Seaford High but graduated from Valley Forge Military Academy and College in Wayne, Pennsylvania before attending West Virginia University. After graduating from WVU, he was selected in the 7th round (216th overall) by the New England Patriots in the 1996 NFL Draft. The Lovett School is a coeducational, kindergarten through twelfth grade independent school located in north Atlanta, Georgia, United States. History In September 1926, Eva Edwards Lovett, an innovative educator who emphasized the development of the whole child, officially began the Lovett School with 20 boys and girls in first through third grades at a former home in Midtown Atlanta. By 1936, Lovett was able to become a true country day school, with a move to a wooded campus north of the city off West Wesley Road. In 1963, the Lovett School became the focus of a desegregation controversy when it rejected the applications of three black students, including Martin Luther King III. The Lovett Tower (formerly known as the MLC Building) is a 93-metre-tall building (305 ft) located in the Woden Town Centre, a commercial district in Canberra. History Its construction was completed in 1973 by Civil & Civic, and it became the tallest building in Canberra. This title was replaced by the "High Society" development in Belconnen which was completed in 2020. Shortly after its opening, in 1974, there was an incident where a gunman of indigenous background held four public servants part of the Department of Aboriginal Affairs at gunpoint, as a result armed guards were posted in the lobby for the next few months.
