Loverbar
Loverbar was a queer bar, restaurant and nightclub located in Río Piedras, San Juan, Puerto Rico. As a queer club it was the first of its kind in Puerto Rico, with ''Refinery29'' calling it "''the'' queer destination for everything exciting, progressive, and radical about the Puerto Rican queer scene." It opened in 2020 and announced its closure at the end of 2021. History Loverbar was founded by journalist Jhoni Jackson, who previously had co-owned Club 77, a discotheque, where she organized an LGBT group of artists called ''House of'' ''De Show''. In 2017, Jackson resigned as Club 77's owner and, after setting up an unsuccessful Indiegogo campaign, raised and saved money for three years. Miguel Romero
Miguel Alberto Romero Lugo (born February 17, 1970) is a Puerto Rican lawyer, who is the current Mayor of San Juan. He was also Secretary of Labor and Human Resources of Puerto Rico (2009–2012) and former Chief of Staff of Puerto Rico during Governor Luis Fortuño's administration (2012–2013) and senator for the San Juan District (2017–2020). Manuel Natal Albelo (born March 25, 1986) is a former member of the 29th House of Representatives of Puerto Rico. Natal is currently affiliated with the Citizen's Victory Movement party after being previously affiliated with the Popular Democratic Party and a legal advisor for Charlie Hernández, another member of the House, before becoming a legislator. Pedro Julio Serrano (born October 2, 1974, in Ponce, Puerto Rico) is an openly gay and HIV+ human rights activist and president of Puerto Rico Para Todes, a non-profit LGBTQ+ and social justice advocacy organization founded in 2003. He is a former advisor to former New York City Council Speaker Melissa Mark Viverito and to former San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz.
