Lovely Summer Chan
, known professionally as , is a Japanese singer and songwriter. From 2014 to 2015, she was the lead vocalist of the band For Tracy Hyde. Career 2013-2015: Early music career In high school, Lovely Summer Chan was part of her high school's light music club. The first song she composed was "Tsuki no Hikarikata." In 2013, she began producing music at home and posting music on SoundCloud. Lovely Summer Chan sang on the chorus of Tofubeats's second single, "Disco no Kami-sama", which was released on March 14, 2014. In April 2014, she released the song "Hajimemashite" digitally, and in July of the same year, she and singer Yoshino Arakawa opened a crowdfunding campaign on Picnic to release a physical version of their collaboration album, ''Yoshi Yoshi, Summer!'' The A-side and B-side are the two sides of phonograph records and cassettes; these terms have often been printed on the labels of two-sided music recordings. The A-side usually features a recording that its artist, producer, or record company intends to be the initial focus of promotional efforts and radio airplay and hopefully become a hit record. The B-side (or "flip-side") is a secondary recording that typically receives less attention, although some B-sides have been as successful as, or more so than, their A-sides. Cymbals (Japanese Band)
was a Japanese rock band active from 1997–2003. The trio was composed of vocalist , bassist/guitarist , and drummer . Like other Japanese bands which emerged in the late 1990s (including Clammbon and Hermann H. & the Pacemakers), Cymbals were strongly influenced by the British pop-rock sounds of the 1960s. Due to their eclectic blend of styles, the band is often linked to Shibuya-kei. Despite solid songwriting and album production, they never scored a true "hit", which eventually resulted in the band's breakup in September 2003. They played a final 90-minute farewell concert at Shibuya O-East on January 20, 2004. The group's members remain musically active – Toki as a solo artist, Okii as a producer (for Toki and others), and Yano as a session drummer and producer. Shibuya-kei
is a microgenre of pop music or a general aesthetic that flourished in Japan in the mid-to late 1990s. The music genre is distinguished by a "cut-and-paste" approach that was inspired by the kitsch, fusion, and artifice from certain music styles of the past. The most common reference points were 1960s culture and Western pop music, especially the work of Burt Bacharach, Brian Wilson, Phil Spector, and Serge Gainsbourg. Shibuya-kei first emerged as retail music from the Shibuya district of Tokyo. Flipper's Guitar, a duo led by Kenji Ozawa and Keigo Oyamada (Cornelius), formed the bedrock of the genre and influenced all of its groups, but the most prominent Shibuya-kei band was Pizzicato Five, who fused mainstream J-pop with a mix of jazz, soul, and lounge influences. (stylized as the brilliant green) is a Japanese rock band from Kyoto formed in 1995. They were signed to Sony Music Entertainment Japan. Their major debut single under Sony, " Bye Bye Mr. Mug", was released in 1997. Their contract with Sony ended in 2008, and on December 1, 2009, the band announced that it had signed with Warner Music Group Japan. Overview The Brilliant Green takes much of their influence from Western music, most predominantly The Beatles, with over half their songs including English lyrics.
