"Love Shy" is a song by the Danish singer Kristine Blond, released as a single in 1998. It peaked at number 22 on the UK Singles Chart. Two years later, it reached the top forty in the UK again, landing at number 28 in November 2000, due to the Club Asylum remix of the track becoming a UK garage club hit. The theme of the song discussed incelibacy and overcoming it. It was the first of two hit singles for Kristine Blond. She returned to the UK chart for the final time in 2002 with "You Make Me Go Oooh" which made number 35. Kristine Blond (born Anne-Kristine Blond on 16 April 1975) is a Danish singer and songwriter. Blond had success as a pop and R&B singer in the late 1990s and early 2000s. She achieved three top 40 hit singles on the UK Singles Chart. Her biggest hit, " Love Shy", peaked at No. 22 in 1998. A re-release of remixes was released in 2000 and peaked at No. 28, containing the popular UK garage mix by Club Asylum. She released several singles in Denmark including "You Make Me Go Oooh", "You Belong to Someone Else" and "All I Ever Wanted". Bassline (sometimes referred to as bassline house, organ house, Niche, B-Line, or 4x4) is a music genre related to UK garage that originated in Yorkshire and the Midlands in the early 2000s. Stylistically it comprises a four-to-the-floor rhythm normally at around 135–142 beats per minute and a strong emphasis on bass, similar to that of its precursor speed garage, with chopped up vocal samples and a pop music aesthetic. In the scene's early days the most prominent bassline club was Niche Nightclub in Sheffield, which became the centre of controversy due to a police raid which resulted in the club's closure in 2005.
