Love Hysteria
''Love Hysteria'' is the second solo album by the British solo artist Peter Murphy, formerly of the gothic rock band Bauhaus. It was released in 1988. The album was largely written with former B-Movie keyboard player Paul Statham, who had joined Murphy's band, The Hundred Men. It was produced by former member of The Fall, Simon Rogers. Critical reception A review at the time of its release in ''Underground'' described the album as "a coherent, tuneful package with tracks that are, on the whole, pretty listenable". Ned Raggett, writing for Allmusic, identified a continuing David Bowie influence, but stated that the album "shows Murphy fully coming into his own as a performer". B-Movie are a new wave band from Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, England, initially active in the first half of the 1980s. History The band's original line-up included lead vocalist and bassist Steve Hovington, guitarist Paul Statham, keyboardist Rick Holliday and drummer Graham Boffey. B-Movie's initial 1980 EP releases, the ''Take Three'' 7" and ''Nowhere Girl'' 12", were issued on the small UK indie label Dead Good Records. They were eventually signed to the Some Bizzare label, and their song "Moles" was featured on the original 1981 ''Some Bizzare Album''. In 1981, B-Movie signed with Phonogram imprint Deram, and had their biggest UK commercial success with the single "Remembrance Day", which reached No. 61 on the UK Singles Chart. Terl Bryant
Terl Bryant is an English musician. His early career saw him working with US singer/songwriter and filmmaker Steve Taylor and later was in the band of Peter Murphy, the lead singer for Bauhaus. During the 90s he went on to join influential folk-themed progressive band Iona and in 1999 joined former Led Zeppelin bassist and multi-instrumentalist John Paul Jones as part of his trio with Chapman stick player Nick Beggs. Matthew Seligman (14 July 1955 – 17 April 2020) was an English bassist, best known for his association with the new wave music scene of the 1980s. Seligman was a member of the Soft Boys and the Thompson Twins, and was a sideman for Thomas Dolby. Seligman was also a member of Bruce Woolley and the Camera Club and the Dolphin Brothers, and backed David Bowie during his performance at Live Aid in 1985. Funtime (Iggy Pop Song)
"Funtime" is a song written by Iggy Pop and David Bowie, first released by Iggy Pop on his 1977 album entitled ''The Idiot''. It reflects Iggy and Bowie's growing fascination with the German music scene, and bears marked similarities to "Lila Engel" by krautrock band Neu!. It has since been covered by multiple artists including Blondie, Boy George, Bebe Buell, Peter Murphy, R.E.M. and The Cars. Composition Iggy had the idea for the song after hearing the Sex Pistols cover the song " No Fun" by his band The Stooges, lyrically the song's ironic take on fun is similar to the song in question. Bauhaus are an English rock band formed in Northampton in 1978. Known for their dark image and gloomy sound, Bauhaus are best known as one of the pioneers of gothic rock, although they mixed many genres, including dub, glam rock, psychedelia, and funk. Peter John Joseph Murphy (born 11 July 1957) is an English singer, songwriter, and musician. He is the vocalist for the post-punk goth rock band Bauhaus.
