Louth Minor Football Championship
The Louth Minor Football Championship is an annual competition organised by Louth GAA between the premier teams in minor (under-17) Gaelic football in County Louth. Trophy The winning team is presented with the Father Larry Murray Cup, named after the Louth priest who was a dedicated promoter of underage football and the Irish language. The Ulster Minor Football Championship and Leinster Minor Football Championship trophies are also named in his honour, as is Páirc Uí Mhuirí in Dunleer (where Murray served as Parish priest), home to the Lann Léire club. LMFM
LMFM is an independent Local Radio station based in Drogheda, Ireland. In terms of listenership, It is the largest radio station in Ireland outside of Dublin and Cork broadcasting to a population in excess of 300,000 adults. Media group UTV Media, now Wireless Group, bought the station in a deal worth about €10 million in 2005. LMFM broadcasts on a number of frequencies, the main being either 95.8FM or 95.5FM. Hunterstown Rovers GAC
Hunterstown Rovers is a Gaelic football ( GAA) club located in Ardee, County Louth, Ireland. The club's pitch is located about 3 kilometres south of Ardee on the main Dublin-Derry Road ( N2). Hunterstown has teams at all age levels starting from U5's through to senior level. History The club was founded in 1941. After challenge matches against the O'Mahony's and Collon, the club affiliated with the Louth County Board in 1941, playing their first competitive match in March of that season in the Second Division Championship at Dunleer. They won this match, against St. Colmcille's, Togher, on a scoreline of 2-4 to nil. In their next outing however, Hunterstown lost in Dunleer. In that season, Rovers won their section of the Ranafast Cup only to fall to Kilcurry in the competition's semi-final stages. Annaghminnon Rovers GFC is a Gaelic football club from the small community of Stonetown in the parish of Louth, in County Louth. Founded in 1959, the club's colours are white and red (white jersey with red hoop). As of 2023, Rovers compete in the Louth Junior Football Championship and Division 3B of the county football Leagues. Cormac Malone is the team manager. History Following Louth's 1957 All Ireland win, a need arose in the area to form a club and meetings took place in 1958 in the town land of Annaghminnon. The club was finally granted affiliation after several failed attempts in 1959. The club's maiden championship was achieved in 1964 after a narrow victory of John Mitchells and the team was managed by Jim Quigley who had led Louth's All Ireland campaign seven years previously. Dreadnots GFC is a Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club that fields gaelic football teams in competitions organised by Louth GAA. It is located in the south Louth seaside village of Clogherhead. The club has a local rivalry with neighbours St Fechin's. As of 2023, the club competes in the Louth Senior Championship and Division 1 of the county football Leagues. Stabannon Parnells GFC is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Stabannon, County Louth, Ireland. The club is primarily concerned with the game of Gaelic football. History Located in the village of Stabannon, County Louth, Stabannon Parnells GFC was founded in 1933, however, the existence of Gaelic football teams in the parish predates the foundation of the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1884. The club first fielded a team in 1934 when Stabannon Parnells entered the Louth second division championship. Between 1949 and 1956 the club contested four Louth SFC finals and won two, including being the first ever recipients of the Joe Ward Cup. Oliver Plunketts GFC is a GAA club located in Drogheda, County Louth, Ireland. From its base on the Slane road, the club serves the Mell Parish in West Drogheda and fields gaelic football teams in competitions organised by Louth GAA. St Mochta's GFC is a Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club that fields Gaelic football teams in competitions organised by Louth GAA. It is based in the village of Louth, where Saint Mochta is said to have founded a monastery in the 6th century. Both the club and the football ground, which has been a frequent venue for county finals, are named in his honour. In 2021 the club reached the final of the Louth Senior Football Championship for the first time. Their side, which included former AFL player and Louth county footballer Ciarán Byrne, lost by eleven points to defending champions Naomh Máirtín at Ardee's Páirc Mhuire.
