Louth Intermediate Football League
The Louth Intermediate Football League is an annual Gaelic football competition organised by Louth GAA for Division 2 teams in County Louth. Format At the end of the league programme, the team with the most points is automatically promoted to Division 1 as league winners. The second-placed team can obtain promotion by winning a play-off involving a Division 1 club. The team that finishes bottom of the league is relegated to Junior football. History The competition was launched in 1978 when Louth GAA introduced the Intermediate football grade, between those of Senior and Junior. O'Raghallaighs GFC is a Gaelic Athletic Association club from Drogheda, County Louth, Ireland. The club fields Gaelic football teams in competitions organised by Louth GAA. Stabannon Parnells GFC is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Stabannon, County Louth, Ireland. The club is primarily concerned with the game of Gaelic football. History Located in the village of Stabannon, County Louth, Stabannon Parnells GFC was founded in 1933, however, the existence of Gaelic football teams in the parish predates the foundation of the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1884. Mattock Rangers Gaelic Athletic Association is a Gaelic football, camogie, hurling and ladies' Gaelic football club based in Collon, County Louth, Republic of Ireland. 2] 4] History The club was founded in 1952 and is named after the Mattock River, a tributary of the River Boyne, Boyne. Hunterstown Rovers is a Gaelic football ( GAA) club located in Ardee, County Louth, Ireland. The club's pitch is located about 3 kilometres south of Ardee on the main Dublin-Derry Road ( N2). Hunterstown has teams at all age levels starting from U5's through to senior level. History The club was founded in 1941. After challenge matches against the O'Mahony's and Collon, the club affiliated with the Louth County Board in 1941, playing their first competitive match in March of that season in the Second Division Championship at Dunleer. They won this match, against St. Colmcille's, Togher, on a scoreline of 2-4 to nil. In their next outing however, Hunterstown lost in Dunleer. In that season, Rovers won their section of the Ranafast Cup only to fall to Kilcurry in the competition's semi-final stages. Seán O'Mahony's GFC is a Gaelic football club based in Dundalk, County Louth. History The club was founded in 1938 and named after the Irish republican Seán O'Mahony. They won the 2014 Louth Intermediate Football Championship and went on to win that year's Leinster Intermediate Club Football Championship. In 2015 the club reached the final of the Louth Senior Football Championship for the first time and won it in 2016 by defeating St Mary's of Ardee. O'Mahony's then advanced to the 2016–17 All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship, defeating Baltinglass and Newbridge Sarsfields before losing 0–12 to 1–05 in the Leinster semi-final against Rhode at the Gaelic Grounds.
