Louise Bawden
Louise Bawden (born 7 August 1981) is an Australian volleyball and beach volleyball player. She represented Australia at the 2000 Summer Olympics in indoor volleyball, finishing in 9th. She was selected to represent Australia at the 2012 Summer Olympics in beach volleyball, but she and team-mate Becchara Palmer did not qualify from the pool stage. Personal Bawden was born in Melbourne, Victoria and attended Fintona Girls' School. She spent her childhood in Melbourne, moving to Canberra when she was sixteen. She then moved to the Netherlands after the Sydney Olympics, returning to Australia in 2003. In 2008, she completed a degree at a university in Queensland. A beach is a landform alongside a body of water which consists of loose particles. The particles composing a beach are typically made from rock, such as sand, gravel, shingle, pebbles, etc., or biological sources, such as mollusc shells or coralline algae. Sediments settle in different densities and structures, depending on the local wave action and weather, creating different textures, colors and gradients or layers of material. Though some beaches form on inland freshwater locations such as lakes and rivers, most beaches are in coastal areas where wave or current action deposits and reworks sediments. Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. The FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour (known between 2003 and 2012 as the FIVB Beach Volleyball Swatch World Tour for sponsorship reasons) was the worldwide professional beach volleyball tour for both men and women organized by the ' ( FIVB), the sport's global governing body. The World Tour was introduced 1989 for men and in 1992 for women being held yearly since then until 2021. Several tournaments were staged throughout the year. Bibiana Candelas Ramírez (born December 2, 1983 in Torreon, Coahuila) is a 6'5" (195 cm) female beach volleyball and indoor volleyball player who represented her native country, Mexico, at the 2008 Olympics with her beach partner, Mayra García. Prep and early life Candelas was born in Torreón, Coahuila. She graduated in 2002 from Colegio Ponceño in Puerto Rico, but attended Preparatoria Luzac in Torreón as a freshman and sophomore. The women's beach volleyball tournament at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, took place at the Copacabana Stadium. The competition was held from 6 to 17 August 2016. Twenty four teams with 48 athletes around the world competed for the gold medal.
