Louis St. Martin
Louis St. Martin (May 17, 1820 – February 9, 1893) was an American politician from Louisiana. He first was elected to the Louisiana state house of representatives in 1840. However, he then held a federal appointment for much of the mid-1840s. He was a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives 1846–1850. In 1850 he was elected a member of the U. S. House of Representatives representing the state of Louisiana in its First District, which at the time encompassed part of New Orleans and everything east of the city but south of Lake Pontchartrain.The Historical Atlas of Political Parties in Congress, p. 105 At this point he only served one term in Congress. Louisiana's 1st congressional district is a congressional district in the U.S. state of Louisiana. The district comprises land from the northern shore of Lake Pontchartrain south to the Mississippi River delta. It covers most of New Orleans' suburbs, as well as a sliver of New Orleans itself. The district is currently represented by Republican House minority whip Steve Scalise. It has a Cook Partisan Voting Index rating of R+22, making it the most Republican district in Louisiana. Carleton Hunt (January 1, 1836 – August 14, 1921) was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives representing the state of Louisiana. He served one term as a Democrat. Theodore Stark Wilkinson (Louisiana Politician)
Theodore Stark Wilkinson (December 18, 1847 – February 1, 1921) was a member of the U. S. House of Representatives representing the state of Louisiana. He served two terms as a Democrat. After leaving office, he was appointed collector of the U.S. Custom House at New Orleans by President Grover Cleveland. Wilkinson was born on the Point Celeste plantation in Plaquemines Parish. As an adult, he owned the largest sugar plantations in lower Plaquemines, with one encompassing nine miles of Mississippi River riverfront. He also ran unsuccessfully for governor of Louisiana in 1908. He died from heart failure in New Orleans on February 1, 1921.
