Louis Chua
Louis Chua Kheng Wee (; born 1987) is a Singaporean politician. A member of the opposition Workers' Party (WP), he has been the Member of Parliament (MP) representing the Rivervale division of Sengkang GRC. Career Chua is an equity research analyst. Prior to starting his career, Chua obtained a double degree in accountancy and business at the Singapore Management University, he is certified as a Chartered Accountant in Singapore and ASEAN. Politics Chua was fielded in 2020 Singaporean general election to contest in a four-member Workers' Party's team in Sengkang Group Representation Constituency (GRC) on Workers' Party's ticket against People's Action Party. Chua's running mates are Jamus Lim, Raeesah Khan, and He Ting Ru. Sengkang GRC
The Sengkang Group Representation Constituency is a four-member Group Representation Constituency (GRC) in the north-eastern region of Singapore. The GRC consists of four divisions: Anchorvale, Rivervale, Buangkok, and Compassvale; Compassvale was subsumed into the other three following the resignation of its MP, Raeesah Khan. Punggol East Single Member Constituency was a single member constituency (SMC) located in the north-eastern area of Singapore. Following the release of the Electoral Boundaries Review committee report for the 2020 general elections, Punggol East SMC was merged into the 4-member Sengkang Group Representation Constituency (GRC). History Punggol East SMC was the sole constituency to feature a three-cornered contest for the election. Raeesah Begum bte Farid Khan (born 1993) is a Singaporean social activist and former politician. A former member of the opposition Workers' Party (WP), she was the Member of Parliament (MP) representing the Compassvale division of Sengkang GRC between 2020 and 2021. She resigned from the Workers' Party and Parliament on 30 November 2021 after making unsubstantiated allegations in Parliament on three occasions. Jamus Jerome Lim Chee Wui (; born 1976) is a Singaporean politician, economist and associate professor. A member of the opposition Workers' Party (WP), he has been the Member of Parliament (MP) representing the Anchorvale division of Sengkang GRC since 2020. Early life and career Lim attended Catholic High School, Raffles Institution and Raffles Junior College as part of his early education in Singapore. He was also a service medic in the Singapore Armed Forces during his national service in Singapore. 2020 Singaporean General Election
General elections were held in Singapore on Friday, 10 July 2020 to elect 93 members to the Parliament of Singapore across 31 constituencies. Parliament was dissolved and the general election called by President Halimah Yacob on 23 June, on the advice of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
