An odd lotter is an investor who purchases shares or other securities in small or unusual quantities. Stocks are typically traded in increments of 100 shares, a quantity known as a ''round lot'' or ''board lot''. The cost of 100 shares of a security may be beyond the means of an individual investor, or may represent a larger investment than the investor wishes to make. Thus, the investor purchases an odd lot. Odd lot theory Odd lotters were central to a historical theory of technical analysis known as odd lot theory. Odd lot theory was predicated on the belief that one could outperform the stock market by identifying the least-informed investors and making investments opposite to them. Akademi Fantasia (season 4)
The fourth season of ''Akademi Fantasia'' premiered on the Astro Ria television channel on 3 June 2006. The season introduced Adlin Aman Ramlie as a replacement for Kudsia Kahar, while Aznil Nawawi returned as host once again. On 5 August 2006, a native of Marang, Terengganu, Mohammad Faizal Ramly won the season, defeating runner-up Lotter P. Edwin Edin. Faizal remained the last male winner until the seventh season. As much as 20 short-listed contestants were revealed in ''Tirai Akademi Fantasia'', which was aired on 20 May 2006. However, all contestants were required to perform in the Prelude Concert in order to determine the final 12 contestants who would move on to the main competition in which 10 contestants would be chosen by the jury and the remaining two contestants by the audience's votes. Johannes Lötter
Johannes Cornelius Jacobus "Hans" Lötter (1875-1901) was a Boer commander who fought, and was executed by, the British during the Second Boer War. Along with Gideon Scheepers, Lötter was one of the most brutal guerrilla commandos in the Cape Colony. Lötter entered the Cape Colony during the war along with Pieter Hendrik Kritzinger. Lötter's Boer Commando earned a reputation for being brutal and undisciplined. Like many Boer commandants, Lötter promulgated public decrees to the residents of the Cape Colony, warning of harsh retribution if they did not support the forces of the Boer Republics. A column led by Henry Jenner Scobell was tasked with tracking down Lötter's commando. They tracked the commando to Groenkloof, west of Cradock, and surprised them with a dawn attack. Sixty of Lötter's men became casualties and sixty, including Lötter, were captured. Gerhard Petrus Lotter (born 3 January 1993) is a Namibian cricketer and rugby union player. Rugby career In rugby union, Lotter usually plays as a hooker, but can also play as an eighth man. He currently plays for Namibian side in the South African Currie Cup qualification series and for Windhoek-based amateur side Wanderers in the Premier League.
