Lotta (river)
The Lotta ( fi, Luttojoki or Lutto, se, Lotto or Lohttu, sms, Lått, russian: Лотта and no, Lotta) is a river that is part of the watercourse of the Tuloma. It flows through the eastern parts of the municipalities of Inari and Sodankylä in Finland and in the southern part of Pechenga in Murmansk Oblast, Russia. Before the Pechenga area was ceded to the Russians, the entire river was within Finland's borders. The Lutto starts from a small lake, Lake Lutto, in the northern part of the village of Saariselkä. From there, the river flows eastward, occasionally hugging the border between Inari and Sodankylä. Saariselkä
Saariselkä (Inari Sami: ''Suolluščielgi,'' se, Suoločielgi, literally ''islandback'') is a fell area in Lapland, northern Finland. It is located in the Inari, Savukoski and Sodankylä municipalities. The highest point is high Mt Sokusti. The range is mostly 2 billion-year-old granulite. The last ice age ended 9500 years ago in Saariselkä. Tourism Saariselkä is partly in Urho Kekkonen National Park. The hill area is a popular tourist destination, providing activities such as skiing, hiking and spa. Saariselkä village is located in the area and belongs to the Inari municipality, about above sea level. Kaunispää-fell, rising next to the village, is high. Sodankylä (; sme, Soađegilli ; smn, Suáđigil; sms, Suäʹđjel) is a municipality of Finland. It is located in the region of Lapland, and lies at the northern end of Highway 5 ( E63) and along Highway 4 ( E75). The Kitinen River flows near the center of Sodankylä.
