Lot (biblical Person)
Lot (; he, לוֹט ''Lōṭ'', lit. "veil" or "covering"; gr, Λώτ ''Lṓt''; ar, لُوط ''Lūṭ''; Syriac: ܠܘܛ ''Lōṭ'') was a man in the biblical Book of Genesis, chapters 11–14 and 19. Notable events in his life include his journey with his uncle Abram (Abraham); his flight from the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, during which Lot's wife became a pillar of salt; and his being intoxicated by his daughters so that they could have sexual intercourse with him and ensure their family would have descendants. Biblical account According to the Hebrew Bible, Lot was born to Haran, who died in Ur of the Chaldees. Lot Lane
Lot Lonoikaua Kamehameha Carey Lane (1864–1953) was the last insurgent to be captured by government forces after the Uprising of 1895 in Hawaii. He advocated better treatment for prisoners of war by the Republic of Hawaii, while being incarcerated himself. Early life Lane was born 31 July 1864 in Waialua and was personally named after Kamehameha V. He was a brother of John Carey Lane and of Irish- Hawaiian who claimed to be descended from Kamehameha I and the Irish Monarchy. He expressed this claim openly to fellow insurgents receiving the nickname "Kamehameha". Family Lane married Elizabeth Lokai Kaohele who had their daughter Bernicia Kailiponi Lane (1898–1942). Lot Whitcomb
Lot Whitcomb (1807–1857) was an American commercial entrepreneur and politician who established the city of Milwaukie, Oregon. Lot Torelli
Lot Torelli (born October 30, 1835 in Florence – 1896) was an Italian sculptor. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts of Florence, Academy of Fine Arts, but in 1858, due to family misfortunes, had to leave Florence for Paris. He returned the next year, enrolling as a volunteer in the war of Independence. By 1862, he returned to making sculpture. In 1865, he won a three-year stipend from the Academy. Among his major works are: a medallion representing the future Queen, Princess Margherite, exhibited at Florence in 1871; ''Adam and Eve'', which became statues on the facade of the Duomo of Florence. He submitted sculptures to the 1876 Centennial Exposition, Philadelphia. Lot Thomas (October 17, 1843 – March 17, 1905) was a state-court judge who also served three terms as a Republican U.S. Representative from Iowa's now-obsolete 11th congressional district, in northwestern Iowa. Lot Smith (May 15, 1830 – June 20, 1892) was a Mormon pioneer, soldier, lawman and American frontiersman. He became known as "The Horseman" for his exceptional skills on horseback as well as for his help in rounding up wild mustangs on Utah's Antelope Island. William Thomas Jones (Baptised 28 June 1882Baptism Register, Chirk Parish Church, page 13 – 13 July 1941), also known as William "Lot" Jones and Billy Lot Jones, was a Welsh footballer who played as a forward. Lot Hall (April 2, 1757 – May 17, 1809) was a Vermont attorney, politician, and judge. A veteran of the American Revolution, Hall served as a justice of the Vermont Supreme Court from 1794 to 1800.
