Loserville
''Loserville'' is a musical with music and lyrics by James Bourne and Elliot Davis, originally created for Youth Music Theatre UK. The story is based on an album, ''Welcome to Loserville'' from Bourne's second band, Son of Dork. ''Loserville'' was performed in America for the first time in 2017, but performed for the first time in the US professionally in its east coast premiere at Fredericketowne Players in 2020. Synopsis ACT 1 In 1971, at technology company Arch Industries, high school student Michael Dork is mopping the corridors of the building. As Michael sneaks his way into the firm's computer room, he communicates with his best friend and accomplice Lucas Lloyd, who brings him a storage device, onto which Michael transfers the project he has been working on to develop a digital language that would allow computers to communicate with each other. Welcome To Loserville
''Welcome to Loserville'' is the only studio album from British pop punk band Son of Dork. The album was released on 21 November 2005 by Mercury Records. The album was later adapted into a musical, "Loserville the Musical", by band member James Bourne and writer Elliot Davis commissioned and performed by Youth Music Theatre UK and presented at the South Hill Park Arts Centre, Bracknell, in 2009. The show was subsequently retitled "Loserville" and produced professionally by Kevin Wallace, TC Beech and Youth Music Theatre UK at the West Yorkshire Playhouse. It then transferred to the West End's Garrick Theatre and featured UK pop star Chris Hardman. The track "Boy Band" on the album was co-written by American band Wheatus. Son Of Dork
Son of Dork were a British pop punk band formed by James Bourne after his previous band, Busted, split in January 2005. The name of the band came from a scene in the 1990 film '' Problem Child'' where the chant "Son of Dork" is used. Their debut single, " Ticket Outta Loserville", was released in November 2005, reaching No. 3 on the UK Singles Chart. Their second single, "Eddie's Song", reached No. 10 in January 2006. Youth Music Theatre UK
British Youth Music Theatre (BYMT), formerly Youth Music Theatre UK, is a UK-based national performing arts organisation founded in December 2003. BYMT provides music theatre training to young people aged 11–21 and a stepping stone to drama school or conservatoire. Members can join either through auditions in January and February onto productions or, without audition, onto summer camps. Most of its productions and summer camps are residential and situated around the UK with productions taking place in both regional and London theatres. James Bourne
James Elliot Bourne (born 13 September 1983) is an English singer-songwriter and musician. He is known as the co-founder of pop punk bands Busted and Son of Dork, and he also created his own electronic project: Future Boy. From 2013 to 2015 he was a member of McBusted, which consisted of himself, Busted bandmate Matt Willis, and McFly. Personal life Bourne was born in Rochford, Essex to Peter and Maria Bourne and moved to Southend-on-Sea at age ten months. He has a sister named Melissa and two brothers named Nick and Chris. Aaron Michael Sidwell (born 12 September 1988) is an English actor and singer. Elliot Davis is a British composer, musician and music documentary maker. Biography Davis started his career transcribing musical ideas for Lionel Bart. He then went on to work in the West End of London in a musical capacity on ''Miss Saigon'', '' Cats'', ''Les Misérables'', '' Blood Brothers'' and '' Jesus Christ Superstar''. He was musical director for the European premieres of ''Lucky Stiff'', ''Orpheus'' and ''The Demon Headmaster'', which premiered at the Pleasance Theatre, London. The Matrix is an American-British songwriting and record production team, consisting of Lauren Christy, Scott Spock, and Graham Edwards.
