"Lose My Mind" is a song by Australian singer and songwriter Dean Lewis. Released in July 2017 as the third single from his debut extended play '' Same Kind of Different'' (2017). Lewis explained: ""Lose My Mind" could be my favourite song on the EP, it's about how you feel when you are on the verge of losing someone and you feel like you can't live without them. It's like the first night without that person who has been there for you. I remember feeling like the walls were closing in cause that person who I could always turn to was gone. That felt like losing my mind." In August 2017, "Lose My Mind" was used in a television promotion for the Seven Network's show ''800 Words ''800 Words'' (stylised as ''800 words'') is a comedy-drama television series, co-produced by South Pacific Pictures and Seven Productions for the Seven Network. In an interview with ''Stack Magazine'', Lewis said "I go through phases when I'm writing songs; if I'm surging to that kind of music, I'm just keen to write songs like that. I think that there's a thread through them. But I've written 100 to 150 ongsin the last two years so it was really tough choosing songs for the EP. And it's also hard because I don't want to give everything away too quickly. I kept the ones that I think will be better for the album. I'm really proud of the songs so I can't wait to put this EP out there." The EP was supported with a "Lose My Mind" national tour throughout November and December 2017. The tour was announced in August 2017. Reception Tim Kroenert of ''The Music'' said "Dean Lewis presents six largely acoustic-driven pop tracks that seem tailored for broad appeal.
