Dean Lewis
Dean Lewis Grant Loaney (born 21 October 1987) is an Australian pop singer-songwriter. He is best known for his 2016 single "Waves", which was certified 7× platinum in Australia in 2019, and his 2018 single " Be Alright", which reached number one in Australia and was certified platinum within four weeks of release, eventually reaching 11× platinum in Australia and multi-platinum worldwide, including double platinum in the United States. Lewis released his debut studio album, ''A Place We Knew'', in 2019 and his second, '' The Hardest Love'', in 2022. "Waves" is the debut single by Australian singer and songwriter Dean Lewis. Released in September 2016 as the lead single from his debut extended play ''Same Kind of Different'' (2017). In an interview with ''Stack Magazine'' in May 2017, Lewis explained: "A lot of people think it's about relationships, but it's more about how with every year hatpasses, life gets a little bit less exciting. I was in London a year ago and a few music things were happening, and I'm like 'Why am I not really enjoying my life? Like, this is cool!' Then I remembered when I was 15 and you'd go to a house party and you'd be so excited, or going to the movies with your friends. Where has that feeling gone?" ''Same Kind of Different'' is the debut extended play (EP) by Australian indie pop artist Dean Lewis. It was released on 12 May 2017. In an interview with ''Stack Magazine'', Lewis said "I go through phases when I'm writing songs; if I'm surging to that kind of music, I'm just keen to write songs like that. I think that there's a thread through them. But I've written 100 to 150 ongsin the last two years so it was really tough choosing songs for the EP.
