Los Mameyes
Los Mameyes is a neighbourhood in the city of Santo Domingo Este in the province of Santo Domingo of the Dominican Republic. This neighbourhood is populated in particular by individuals from the middle classes. History The name Los Mameyes came about because of a mango plantation called mameyitos. It is located in the south coastal park where one of the most important maritime entrances for tourism is the Sans Souci Tourist Port. The geographical area of this sector is comprised from the 27 de Febrero Naval Base to Las Americas Avenue, it also goes around the Columbus Lighthouse Monument as well as the Mirador del Este Park. Yenebier Adelina Guillén Benítez (born December 8, 1986) is a Dominican boxer who competes as a 75 kilogram middleweight, Pan American Champion and Female Boxer in 2013 and silver medal at the 2011 Pan American Games. Gilberto Rolando Reyes Polanco (born December 10, 1963, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) is a former catcher in Major League Baseball. Career Reyes was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Los Angeles Dodgers on January 15, 1980, and spent four seasons in the Dodgers farm system before making his major league debut in 1983. He alternated between AAA and the Majors for most of the next five seasons before the Dodgers traded him to the Montreal Expos in March 1989.
