Lorn Macdonald
Lorn Alexander Macdonald (born 10 September 1992) is a Scottish actor and director. Born in Kirkcaldy, he studied acting at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. He is mostly known for starring as Spanner in the 2019 film '' Beats'' and as Mark Renton in an acclaimed production of ''Trainspotting'' in 2016 at the Citizens Theatre in Glasgow. He has also appeared at the Citizens Theatre as Orestes in ''Oresteia This Restless House'' and Edmund in '' Long Day's Journey Into Night'' in 2017, on television in ''Neverland Neverland is a fictional island featured in the works of J. Kirkcaldy ( ; sco, Kirkcaldy; gd, Cair Chaladain) is a town and former royal burgh in Fife, on the east coast of Scotland. It is about north of Edinburgh and south-southwest of Dundee. The town had a recorded population of 49,460 in 2011, making it Fife's second-largest settlement and the List of towns and cities in Scotland by population, 12th most populous settlement in Scotland. ''Beats'' is a 2019 British drama film directed Brian Welsh. It was based upon a play of the same name by Kieran Hurley, who adapted the screenplay with Welsh; Steven Soderbergh acts as an executive producer. ''Trainspotting'' is the first novel by Scottish writer Irvine Welsh, first published in 1993. It takes the form of a collection of short stories, written in either Scots, Scottish English or British English, revolving around various residents of Leith, Edinburgh who either use heroin, are friends of the core group of heroin users, or engage in destructive activities that are effectively addictions. The novel is set in the late 1980s and has been described by ''The Sunday Times'' as "the voice of punk, grown up, grown wiser and grown eloquent".
