Lorimer Johnston
Lorimer Johnston (November 2, 1858 in Maysville, Kentucky – February 20, 1941 in Hollywood, California) was an American silent film actor and director. He was involved in the production of over 60 films in acting and directing and he also wrote the scripts for twelve films, according to IMDb, nearly all shorts. In 1913, Johnston directed the short films '' For the Crown'' and '' For the Flag'', working with actresses such as Charlotte Burton. Towards the end of his career Johnston starred as an actor in sound motion pictures such as the popular Frankenstein films '' Ghost of Frankenstein'' and ''Son of Frankenstein''. Maysville, Kentucky
Maysville is a home rule-class city in Mason County, Kentucky, United States and is the seat of Mason County. The population was 8,782 as of 2019, making it the 51st-largest city in Kentucky by population. Maysville is on the Ohio River, northeast of Lexington. It is the principal city of the Maysville Micropolitan Statistical Area, which includes Mason and Lewis counties. Two bridges cross the Ohio from Maysville to Aberdeen, Ohio: the Simon Kenton Memorial Bridge built in 1931 and the William H. Harsha Bridge built in 2001. ''Tarzan the Mighty'' is a 1928 American action film serial directed by Jack Nelson and Ray Taylor. It was nominally based on the collection ''Jungle Tales of Tarzan'' by Edgar Rice Burroughs. The film is now considered to be lost. Cast * Frank Merrill as Tarzan. Joe Bonomo was cast as Tarzan but, while filming ''Perils of the Wild'', fractured his left leg and severely injured his sacroiliac joint while performing a stunt. ''The Bells'' is a 1926 American silent crime film directed by James Young, starring Lionel Barrymore and Boris Karloff. It was based on an 1867 French stage play called ''Le Juif Polonais'' (''The Polish Jew'') by Erckmann-Chatrian. The play was translated to English in 1871 by Leopold Lewis at which time it was retitled '' The Bells''. The English version of the play was performed in the U.S. in the 19th century by Sir Henry Irving.
