Lorenzo Holzknecht
Lorenzo Holzknecht (born 12 December 1984) is an Italian ski mountaineer. Holzknecht was born in Sondalo. He started ski mountaineering in 2001 and competed first in the same year. Sondalo (''Sondel'' in Valtellinese dialect) is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Sondrio in the Italian region Lombardy, located about northeast of Milan and about northeast of Sondrio. Sondalo borders the following municipalities: Grosio, Ponte di Legno, Valdisotto, Valfurva, Vezza d'Oglio. Sondalo is home to the E. Pierra Menta
The Pierra Menta has been an annual competition of ski mountaineering at Arêches-Beaufort in the region of Beaufort, Savoie south-eastern France since 1986. Jean Pellissier (ski Mountaineer)
Jean Pellissier (30 July 1972 – 27 October 2023) was an Italian ski mountaineer, mountain runner, and sky runner. Career Pellissier started ski mountaineering in 1997 and competed first in the Mezzalama Trophy race in the same year. He has been member of the national team since 2002. Since finishing his professional career he ran a mountain equipment store in Martigny. Death Jean Pellissier died on 27 October 2023, at the age of 51. The World Championships of Ski Mountaineering are biannually held ski mountaineering competitions. History The events were originally sanctioned by the International Council for Ski Mountaineering Competitions (ISMC). The first official world mastership of the ISMC was carried out in the " International Year of Mountains" (2002), declared by the United Nations. The championship was held in Serre Chevalier, France, from January 24 to January 27, 2002.
