Longbenton
Longbenton is a district of North Tyneside, England. It is largely occupied by an extensive estate originally built as municipal housing by Newcastle City Council in the 1930s and extended in the 1950s. It is served by the Tyne and Wear Metro stations Longbenton Metro station and Four Lane Ends Metro Station. Nearby places are Killingworth, Forest Hall, Four Lane Ends, West Moor, Heaton and South Gosforth, in Newcastle upon Tyne. History The name ''Longbenton'' probably means "long (i.e. large) bean town", to distinguish it from the smaller village of Little Benton to its south-east. Longbenton Community College
Longbenton High School is a smaller than average Secondary School located in Benton, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Benton, North Tyneside, England. Operating under the two-tier system in North Tyneside, the school takes students from age 11-18. The school building also includes a very small Sixth Form, joint with George Stephenson High School. Longbenton is a Tyne and Wear Metro station, serving the Freeman Hospital and suburb of Longbenton, North Tyneside in Tyne and Wear, England. It joined the network on 11 August 1980, following the opening of the first phase of the network, between Haymarket and Tynemouth via Four Lane Ends. History The station originally opened in July 1947, under the London and North Eastern Railway, which operated electric suburban passenger services on the North Tyneside Loop – known as the ''Tyneside Electrics''. The original neoclassical station building was joined by a covered concrete footbridge and waiting rooms in the late 1950s, all of which were frequent targets for vandals by the 1970s. Four Lane Ends Metro Station
Four Lane Ends is a Tyne and Wear Metro station, serving the suburbs of Benton and Longbenton, North Tyneside in Tyne and Wear, England. St Mary's Catholic Comprehensive School
St Mary's Catholic School (formerly St Mary's Catholic Comprehensive School) is an English secondary school in Longbenton, Newcastle, England. In September 2013, following conversion to Academy, the ' Comprehensive' was officially removed from the school's name. History St Mary's started life as a technical school for boys in 1954, and was located on the west side of Frederic Street (Rutherford Street not Frederic Street) (now a part of St. James' Boulevard), a short street between Bath Lane and Westgate Road in Newcastle until September 1966. Tyne And Wear

Benton Park View, located in Benton, a suburb of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom, is a multi-agency site of the UK Government. The complex is one of the largest secure civilian government complexes in Europe. Killingworth
Killingworth, formerly Killingworth Township, is a town in North Tyneside, England. Killingworth was built as a planned town in the 1960s, next to Killingworth Village, which existed for centuries before the Township.
